cani play all 48kzx spectrum games on a +2A

HELLO

I have a zx spectrum +2A but some 48K games I just bought wont load up on it . does anyone know if some 48k games don't load on a +2A. maybe I need to buy a48K spectrum.

Not all work, you do need to select 48k mode when its booted
The tape drive its self might be broken

Thanks to the diligent work of the Spectrum community, particularly Alessandro Grusso, there are no longer any known 48K games that cannot be made to work on a +2A or 3+.

First, have a check to see if it's on this list:

If not, it should work and 48K BASIC is your best bet for getting it to load.

Failing that, "USR 0" mode - 48K BASIC but without disabling the 128K hardware - can be entered by going into 128K BASIC and entering USR 0. This is particularly handy for games with AY music.

For games that neither of those work with, go to the aforementioned site and download the patch.

A lot of use have gone the way of SD loaders

You can play a tap or tzx file as audio, to be loaded into a computer, with most emulators. It's way more reliable than a thirty-odd year old cassette tape too.

Still, divMME Future is the way to go if you're using the original hardware on a regular basis.

In the past used to load games off an iPod 1gig, better than using it to listen to music

I remember Frank Bruno's boxing didn't work on a +2A, but it looks like there is a fix for that now.
