Wow, mayhem - I was impressed to see a 64DD on the shelf - how much did that set you back?

Not much actually, I got it years ago before prices on them started to head upwards. I actually bought the unit and the seven common games (ie. everything bar Doshin 2 and World Tour Golf) for $300 plus shipping.
Lie with passion and be forever damned...

A good start indeed. And TF5 with a spine, arh!
Be prepared for some slight pixelation when it comes to DDP on Saturn, otherwise it's a nice port (cheap enough too). I hope you have a Japanese Saturn however, as the version of Soukyu you have has graphical glitches if played on a non Japanese system. IIRC, it's only text that has this issue so otherwise it should be fine. (The re-release of Soukyu, Otokuyo, corrects the above issue and has lots of bonus features too)

Thunder Force V with the spine was courtesy of the lovely Play-Asia it was a very reasonable price too unlike the Limited Edition version which was £15 more!!, has to be said that Thunder Force has been something of a revelation for me, it's fast, playable, and intuative. I fell in love with Dodonpachi straight away the ships are chunky but feel solid, there's so much glee to be had with a fully powered up death spewing ship!! I don't have a Jap Saturn but I was aware of the text issues in Souky, got too good a deal on the game to turn it down mate. :D At the moment I've got a copy of Sengoku Blaede winging it's way to me I can't wait

Well, at least you know. Knowledge is Power, eh?

Seeing as this Saturn business is up to par, I should provide my import album.

Yes you're right!

Man what a collection <picks himself up>

Much respect for Blast Wind, Kingdom Grandprix, and The Dungeons & Dragons Collection. I know how difficult they can be to get!!

Most (if not all) of the screenshots were taken from the MAME screengrabs folder. I printed them out on cheap A4 copier paper on a cheap HP bubblejet printer but that was good enough for retro screenshots. :D

i can never seem to take screenshots on MAME. i got the MAME32 version and i dont know the key for it.

so gave up and took one of Ghouls 'n' Ghosts on FUSION.

Now have that as an XBOX wallpaper. looks quite spunky, actually. but not as good as yours, though. :(
