Get them to mark it as a gift.

I know someone who has six(!) minty boxed ones for sale who will mark it as a gift. If you want their details let me know..

Get caught on this though and it is customs fraud.

They don't take that well.

I got hit for nearly 50% on a 40$ item, and i've read stories of people gettting a bill of more than what they paid for their goods,so ,£300 upwards customs charge ,plus royal mails added extra ,doesn't help convince me.

I got a chunky customs bill on the Master System demo unit I recently bought, I called up to complain that the bill was too much for the value of the item.. but they include the post price on top of the actuall value, and I have paid £90 post - gutted

What? All they do is charge you the proper rate. I've had plenty of stuff that I've imported that theyve done this with. Its not fraud at all.

Customs know what the value of fags and booze are... could they tell you what the value of a used Neo Geo cart is? Or a complete boxed Vectrex system? Exactly...

Very true. Theres next to no possibility of having a customs charge on second hand gear.

The thing that annoys me is when you do get customs charges you usually get admin charges on top by the courier.
