Looking at your list of games, there's a couple that don't belong - Delta Force for example has no metroidvania or platform adventure aspects at all and has no backtracking at all. At best it's an open-world tactical shooter (and even then if one enemy is alerted, every enemy on the level becomes alerted)
I responded to this before:
"As I explain on the Outliers page:
"A page for those games that are related to the genre in some ways, but don't quite fit in for one or more reasons, generally relating to the their overarching structure or a lack of platforming. I've decided not to include strictly overhead/top down view action adventure games (also known as Zelda clones) with platforming here, nor isometric games, because there are many of them and because I'll probably make a separate page for them at some point."

Those listed under that aren't full MV no, but might still be interesting to play for MV fans and gives some context to the evolution of the genre."

Delta Force is listed as an outlier game for 1998; I believe it was listed as action adventure or open world on gamefaqs so there is at least some overlap. Also, games with a question mark next to the title I haven't properly looked into yet or it's been a long time since I played them, so if they don't fit they are only there temporarily. Hope that clears things up.

So I started on this spreadsheet as a complement to the site. The idea is to make some basic data of core aspects of the games easy to survey.

Let me know what you think.

I added a page for top down & isometric games (mainly outliers to the MV genre, so I put it on that page). If nothing else it should be useful for the retro ARPG/AA info and/or as a checklist:

The spreadsheet has seen some major updates as well.
