I've preordered one, having failed to get Megadrive games onto my SNES Classic last night...

I figure September is a long way away, and I can always cancel if I have a change of heart.

I want one, purely because it looks so good.

But then I remember I've got my RasPi under the telly and I think "can I justify the expense?".

This and the N64 mini would be the only mini systems I would have any interest in, wont preorder but if they're still around after a price drop i'll pick one up.

It's certainly proof they've looked outside the normal ones. And getting Disney could be huge.

Hopefully Disney will look at their film release schedule and put Aladdin and Lion King on the thing, although I imagine they'd need whoever owns the corpse of Virgin for that one.

I think they released a collection on Steam that included Lion King and Aladdin a few years ago so it might not be too much of an issue.

Its nice to see Disney be more open to rereleasing classic games based on their IPs these days. Even if we go no more Disney games on the Mini, there's still things like the SEGA Ages series on Switch.

Needs a couple of sports games. This was the downfall of the SNES Mini for me personally - a lack of multiplayer sports. I'm guessing that's something to do with EA keeping their games locked up?

Saying that, i'm sure it'll be hackable within hours of it being released.

Shame it doesn't come with the 6-button controller they're getting in Japan.

Thankfully Retrobit's Official 6 Button Mega Drive controller seems to be confirmed to work with it.

Extra money yes, but thankfully not by a lot.

Sports games are always tricky because of the licences. While the first Fifa doesn't have any players or teams it does of course have Fifa.

Sensi you could do, the rights for that are with Codemasters and there's no licences at all in the Mega Drive one.

I just hope they don't do what they always used to do on the Mega Games compilations, which was shoving World Cup Italia 90 (or Sega Soccer, later) in at every opportunity.

I hope not - they reportedly were going to have 30 games but couldn't whittle down from 40 so went with that. I hope this means there is no room for dross like WCI 90.
