Shooting Gallery Games Recommendations
Thought this the best place to ask such a question, as I'm considering making a shooting gallery style game, and games of the 3rd console generation had a few of these here and there. Then much later on was Point Blank etc.
Looking for some good shooting gallery games for research. Preference being more in the retro variety, as opposed to more newer stuff.
Thank you.

Hogans Alley NES/Arcade
CRAZY FIGHT (ARCADE) That’s like Point blank single screen villians and hostages appear
Crossbow arcade
Chiller arcade
Ghost Hunter Amstrad is sort of platform crossed with a shooting gallery.
There’s a PS1 game called Eggs Adventure it’s not good mind

Carnival - originally a Sega arcade game but was converted to loads of different systems both officially and unofficially.
Mystic Midway: Rest In Pieces - A spooky themed game with lots of FMV for the Philips CD-i.
Gangster Alley - A cool mobster-themed title for the Atari 2600.
Prohibition - Similar theme to above, but much more vast, for the Atari ST.
Quackers - A fun shooting gallery game for the ZX Spectrum that's clearly inspired by Carnival but with a few differences.

Depends how strict you want to be with the Shooting Gallery theme.
I'd suggest Safari Hunt (basically an animated shooting gallery) and Marksman Shooting (more a shooting range than a gallery) both on Sega Master System.

You can't go wrong with a bit of Duck Hunt on the NES
Re: Shooting Gallery Games Recommendations
I'd put Duck Hunt in a different category, as it's fast moving targets as opposed to shooting gallery style which is generally targets in fixed lanes.

I really liked the shooting gallery bits in the Robocop game. I thought it looked really cool how the lines moving along the X and Y axis formed the crosshair.
Re: Shooting Gallery Games Recommendations
Hmm. Firstly, thanks for all the game mentions.
Had a watch of gameplay of all the games mentioned and none of them really match what I'm after. Though Hogan's Alley was a good one. I'm more looking for games where it's on rails, old school before video arcades style. Like:

What about Binatone? Many of the Pong clones came with the simplest of shooting games, being no more than a square bouncing around screen that you shot at and it kept score.

Funnily enough, I've just mentioned Virtua Cop on another board. Perfection in both its layout and scoring system, but not quite as manic as some of the later stuff.
Re: Shooting Gallery Games Recommendations
What about the arcade game Bang? Not sure of the company but it falls into the "carnival" category of lightgun shooters your after.. Randomly chosen, bite-sized shooting minigameicemann wrote: ↑Thu Jan 17, 2019 3:21 amHmm. Firstly, thanks for all the game mentions.

Even if it's not completely related to a shooting gallery game, feel free to mention them, as they may give me ideas.
"Crossbow" for example, looks awesome. I'd have loved to have played that in the arcades.

West Bank/Bank Panic for home computer/arcade is a fantastically addictive game, although it's all about reactions than aiming.
