As a speccy owner back in the day I would be very interested in buying one if they should become available again. I missed the kickstarter and the on line shop which has sold out. I won't be paying over the odds to some ebayer though.

I'd like one, but I know I wouldn't use it enough to justify the cost right now. Here's hoping it's a success and they keep churning them out so I can pick o e up in a couple of years when there are plenty of games around for it.

Yeah, same here.

I've not backed or pre-ordered, because of certain other perpetually delayed crowdfunded projects, but I'm very supportive of their efforts and I'm sure I'll get one eventually if it lives up to the expectations.

I'll definitely pick one up if it becomes widely available... but like others I'm not going to pay over the odds if there are shortages.

Looking forward to the C64 mini (with a perfect replica of the brilliant Competition Pro joystick) in March 2018 which I have pre-ordered.

Just need an Amstrad CPC 6128 mini now! :D

Well, I backed the Kickstarter so I guess you can say I have bought one.
Hopefully it won't be too delayed - if at all - so I can have some fun with it in a month or so.
... but for now I'm coding for it using an emulator :)

I caved in on the final day of the Kickstarter (i knew how gutted i'd be once they started shipping and i was seeing loads of photos in the FB groups). I'm looking forward to seeing what the developers are going to do with it and also to giving my tape collection a run out. Can't wait.

I'd have liked one but like others couldn't really justify the cost to myself (and more to the point the other half) so no. But also as others say, if the opportunity came to get one later...perhaps. As long as the prices were realistic, which is more than you can say for most retro related purchases now!

As much as I think it's cool I also think its completely pointless. It's not a proper Spectrum, so has no nostalgia attached to it and the extra features are nothing I can do on my PC. It's also incredibly expensive so that rules it out of being an impulse buy.

More a C64 man myself, but for something like this to work for me, it would have to be perfect and have something a Android device dont...

As a Speccy obsessive I almost feel compelled to buy one!

But on the other hand, what will it give me that I can't currently get from emulation?

Um... it comes in a Rick Dickinson designed case? :D

Seriously, if you're just looking for something to play the games on, I don't think it really makes a difference. The current state of emulation is so accurate from a functional perspective that it's practically impossible for software alone to determine that it's running on an emulator.

Are Kickstarters still a thing? Thought people burned too many times!

I think I've backed about 24 Kickstarters in the last few years, out of all of those maybe 3 didn't deliver. It's a gamble at times but worth it if you really want something, I jumped in feet first for the Next and all seems to be going well.
