We used to play Castle Wolfenstein as a 'two player' , one controlling the character, one in charge of weapons. It made for some great fun, but some abuse exchanges as either the person controlling the character would panic and run into a wall with the SS chasing, or the weapons chief would panic and lob a grenade too close to something. Then the race to get the disk drive door flipped up before the whole thing reset and you had to sit through the entire pre load story

hehe same here, we'd always play BCW with one kid using the paddle for up/down, one for left/right and one on keys and of course it usually meant walking around in circles and getting killed very quickly. That game was ridiculously hard in those days to play if you hadn't a joystick, but we still gave it a darn good try, didn't we ;)
