Re: wii U
Not Nintendo's best console in my opinion, and other than the bulky gamepad (which I never really liked/used, aside from in Mario Maker), its just a Wii HD...which in itself is not a terrible thing. If you like Nintendo games though, as already pointed out above, there will be plenty of cracking games to enjoy on this system....all now in high-def for the first time.
Re: wii U
I know the Wii U is a dead console, but did you know Konami are still releasing TurboGrafx-16 games on the eShop?
Just picked up 'Mr Heli' (aka Battle Chopper) and 'Necromancer' (both previously Japan exclusives). Other recent releases include 'Salamander' and 'Bomberman: Panic Bomber'. Worth a look if you still use your Wii U!

Re: wii U
I went on the wii u store recently thinking that they would have some decent games at reduced prices. Nope. still massively overpriced.
Re: wii U
Until March 28th, the Wii U is the only Nintendo console that can use both the Wii and Wii U Virtual Console.
It has NES, SNES, N64, Game Boy Advance, Master System, Mega Drive, Neo Geo, TG16 and DS games you can play on it as well as a semi-portable way to play Wii games on the Game Pad.
Wii U library wise it's sadly going to become irrelevant after the Switch's Portocolype announcements but it's decent if you want to play the Original games on a smaller budget.
Overall, unless you don't care for the VC or the semi-portableness of playing Wii games, don't bother.

Usually you'll find the odd Holiday themed sale has at least a few good deals. Last Xmas for example they were offering Darksiders Warmastered Edition for £3, as well as an 80% discount on the sequel if you brought it.

Re: wii U
The Gunman Clive HD collection for under £2 seems the standout bargain for the Wii U there.ALK wrote: ↑Thu Mar 22, 2018 2:47 pmAnd just like that, an Easter sale.![]()

Fast Racing Neo is also worth a shout out as one of the better indie exclusives for the machine. The other good games are mostly cross-platform ones though.
Re: wii U
Does anyone know what the online for Splatoon is like these days? Is it still busy and easy to get a game?
Thinking about finally picking this up. Thanks.

Re: wii U
Picked up Splatoon the other day, and have had no problems getting a game online, sometimes had to wait a couple of minutes to get the full 8 players but it was nothing to complain about.
Really enjoying it so far.

Re: wii U
Ahh, this topic...
The Wii U's been one of the systems I've been eyeing up for a while. Every now and then, I'll see a new boxed system come up for sale somewhere, and my hand hovers over the button marked 'press this to slash cash.'
But with some of the system's exclusives heading to the Switch now, and my paranoia about sourcing spare parts, I've left it alone.
Gotta admit, I AM still curious about StarFox Zero, though.

Re: wii U
It's true some of it's games are ported or being ported, but similarly the Wii U had superior ports of previous gen Nintendo exclusives such Twilight Princess, Windwaker, and Monster Hunter Tri, if those interest you? Also the Wii U doubles as a Wii opening that entire library to you aswell if you don't already have one.
