The Final fight Series has become so strongly intertwined with The street fighter series That it would be nice to see those games added to a collection like this, Especially with the amount of Final fight Characters that have found they way in to the SF series. Add The Saturday night Slam masters in to the mix as well.

I was quite interested in the collection, with the Switch version in mind, then realised that the Switch D-pad is just 4 independent buttons, which doesn't work all that well for fighting games, and I dislike using analogue sticks for them as well. :(

Maybe I'll get them if I ever get an Xb1 or PS4, but even then its not a dead cert since I already have previous SF collection games on other formats and in other capcom game compilations (as well as mame).

The Switch pro controller has a proper dpad.

I believe there's also a Switch Fight Stick out there, but you know how costly those can be.

As well as the Pro Controller, there's a range of 3rd party controller options too. Not tried any of them bar Pro, but there should be enough choice on offer. ;)

Yeah, if money's no object there's this:

For those looking to play on the go, there's also a kit for modding Joy-Cons to give them a d-pad. However, some assembly is required and reviews suggest that the build quality isn't all that great:

That looked good, but is USB wired so can only be used when docked, so really knocks the functionality for me.

You can connect wired controllers to the USB-C port on the bottom of the Switch when undocked via an external hub. There's a video here:

That said, you might prefer getting something that'll use Bluetooth to save on the wiring.

It would have been just nice had Nintendo simply used the same d-pad design as they have done for all their previous consoles (handheld or home). I guess they must have had their design reasons for choosing 4 independent buttons, perhaps for when both are un-tethered and used for two players, a d-pad wouldn't make sense on one of the mini-controllers?

Either way, buying additional controller is both a faff (less portable) and at more expense.

Free Ultra Street Fighter IV if you preorder the collection on XBONE, PS4 or Steam but not Switch.

Switch meanwhile gets a recreation of Super Street Fighter II: The Tournament Battle.

Suppose they'll be waiting on a physical USFIV release on Switch then...
