Not seen this topic before! And now I have, I've bought the book. Of the game. Of the film.

Last few minor tweaks have been made and the second hard-copy proof should be here this week. Then it's just a case of giving the printers the green light and the completed books should arrive a few days later. Only around 175 left now, so if you're thinking about snapping up a copy, now's the time!

A quick update for all those who have preordered the new book: it's just been confirmed that the next (and, hopefully, final) hard-copy proof will now be arriving on Wednesday (Jan 24), so I should be able to give the printers the green light on Friday, once I've had a chance to give the book a jolly thorough perusing. It's apparently a one- to two-week turnaround from that point, so there's a slim chance I'll have the books here by the end of January, but it's probably more likely that they'll be ready to start sending out in early February. Please feel free to get in touch if you have any queries. Almost there now! Many thanks all - Jerry.

I think you'll just have to come out and admit that you're holding back for February 14th because you love us so much ;)

It's actually my birthday on the 14th, so I guess they'd make for a nice present if the courier turned up with them that morning! Would be even better though to wake up to some glowing reviews though, so I definitely want to be sending them out no later than the first week of February. :D

I’m going to spend the rest of this week going through it very carefully to check all is well, but from a quick first flick I can see that they’ve addressed all of the little niggles I had with the first hard-copy proof. Assuming everything’s okay, I’ll give them the double thumbs-up first thing on Monday morning, and then it’ll just be another week or so while they run off the 250 copies and get them over to Golem Towers. After that, it’s over to you fine fellow forumites for fun and feedback!

:)

Quick update: the final hard-copy proof has been scrutinised to within an inch of its life and, happily, this morning I was able to instruct the printers to go ahead and press the big, green "print" button. The books are now scheduled to arrive at Golem Books HQ on Monday, Feb 12, so all those in the UK who have preordered the book should have it in their hands by the end of that week. Almost there now! :D

Looks fantastic. I got the 8-bit book a couple of days ago and it's brilliant. Good reading fodder whilst my little girl sits in her piano lessons.

The Book of the Game of the Film is almost here! The finished books are due back from the printers on Monday (Feb 12) and I'll be dispatching all preordered copies within the following couple of days or so. There are still copies of the limited hardcover edition available, so if you're intrigued and fancy being guided through the 8-bit home computer tie-in story by yours truly, then head over to the Golem Books website now and grab one while you still can: https://jerellis1.wixsite.com/golembooks - and don't forget, my first book, The 8-Bit Book - 1981 to 199x, is also available now in paperback! :)

Since I preordered immediately, I'm not sure which version it was. I want a hardcover, but not sure if that costs extra over what I paid. Can you drop me a PM if I owe you money please. Really looking forward to this one, it's looking great in the previews.
