Recording PS3/360 Gameplay Footage

Post by Negative Creep » Wed Aug 02, 2017 5:06 pm

Even though I still cannot understand the popularity of streaming, messing around with the record and screenshot functions on the One is proving surprisingly addictive. So is there a straightforward way to do it for other consoles, mainly for the 360 and PS3 via HDMI? There are devices on ebay for around £60 but unsure of the quality. Thanks!

I used easycap years back for the ps3 but this was for recording rather than streaming, it worked and is pretty cheap if you just want a video file capture and aren't fussed about anything else. you'll need a laptop or desktop and you won't get amazing quality from it and I am a bit unsure if its still supported on latest windows os. I think there was a bit of lag too so unsure about how that will work with streaming? it's about £6 on amazon. if I can get over to my old mans I might be able to dig it out and test it out with a modern computer.

I did see the Maplin one, but being SD I'm assuming the quality won't be that good. I was thinking more along the lines of a PC card or standalone box, like these
