I remember Nintendo released some GBA games on the VC after the price drop back in late 2011 as a reward for those who had previously bought the 3DS, that was actually how SMA3 became one of my favourite games, although they never released GBA games since for whatever reason... and really, why didn't they just release the GBA games instead of SNES VC if the o3DS can handle GBA games properly?

Also this is going a bit off-topic, maybe we should make a new thread for this.

While I don't think they're better than the 16-bit games, I do think they're very solid achievements for 8-bit. As was mentioned, the gameplay is slower paced and a bit more like Super Mario in this regard and that's not necessarily a bad thing. There's enough differences that the 8-bit games are worth playing even if you already played the 16-bit ones. I even like Sonic Chaos and Sonic Blast, despite the slowdowns going on. Both these were really pushing the SMS when it comes to graphics (pre-rendered DKC stuff on a 8-bit system is bound to turn atleast some "tech freak" heads).
