Talking to a guy at work yesterday who collects SNES games, he recently picked up a 'bargain'...

£500 for Earthbound

Off his head, more money than sense.
At least it's a NTSC version. I find it amazing that people are prepared to spend a fortune on inferior PAL copies for no other reason than nostalgia.

Also because SNES US carts are ugly

Like the US SNES, anyone that wants to play it can get a repro off aliexpress for about £20, people that want shelf fodder can pay stupid

Still play my Super Famicom, on occasion, but my Atari 2600 is used most days and is permanently connected up.

You make me sick with envy!!! I had a master system and megadrive growing up but sadly not an NES or a Super Nintendo and my mates all had the same consoles as me so I never experienced any super nintendo brilliance until roms started becoming popular. I really lucked out, I should have bugged my parents for one. I was quite happy with the likes of Psycho Fox & Streets of Rage 2 but I was really an RPG Gamer at heart and luckily one friend had an Atari ST and another an amiga so I would sleep over and hog the computers playing 16 bit western RPGS into the wee hours of the morning.

That is a great collection, some real gems there

There is a guy on ebay from Hong Kong selling some obviously counterfeit carts, Earthbound for under 20 quid anyone??

He has a few copies

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Snes-Earthbou ... SwB-1Y3-f5

He's starting to rack up a few negatives now with people getting carts that look nothing like the picture, mind you if anyone thought they were getting a genuine cart for that price, they won't have done their homework.

"Ships from Hong kong"

Seriously, people would think that's the real thing?

Nintendo collectors are crazy

It bugs me that almost all the bootlegs on Ebay are for US systems

Also that they are allowed to be sold on there

Can't play SNES on anything but the real hardware. I have a Super Famicom with an SD2SNES flash-cart as well as a regular PAL SNES with about 30 odd loose carts.

For the NES, I'm generally content to use an emulator although I do have a PAL NES and an Argo Famiclone that get used from time to time.

Still got a PAL SNES in the attic, with some games. My dad gave his NES to his brother some years ago. However, I just use emulation nowadays to play classics, I bought a PSP-3000 for emulation on the go too. ^-^

I sold my SNES to my cousin (I regret it!) but I would play it again in a heartbeat if I got it back
