Exactly the same for me. I can see why other people like them, but I don't. Also

Mario Kart Super Circuit - uninteresting tracks and horrible music
Dead Rising - awful save system, bad controls and controller-breaking AI
Limbo - great visual style, horrible trial and error gameplay
Half of Rare Replay - if you grew up with them then I can understand the love, but trying to play the likes of Underwurlde and Lunar Jetman today is just painful
Vectorman - gave me motion sickness
Virtua Fighter - could never get into it, Tekken was just more fun
Sensible Soccer - never owned it when growing up, I played FIFA and ISS, so I just couldn't get into it at all when I tried a few years ago

Dead Space 2 - No evade button. And swarms of fast paced enemies attack you in waves (especially late in the game) and rubbish QTE's. Pity as the atmosphere and areas in the game rock. But I just hated every time you had to fight a group of enemies. And that was frequently. DS3 added an evade move, but it was slow and plodding (and that game has its own problems).

As a general rule I just don't get Fifa. The AI blatantly cheats and the game itself feels insanely repetitive. Great for fans I guess, but I just don't get it.

Mario Kart Double Dash on the 'cube is another one I don't really like. Very floaty kart handling and cheap CPU. It's not bad at all but I just don't see why it's a 90%+ reviewed game.

Is it? My memory of it being reviewed at the time was that it was perceived as the weakest yet, with changes that were detrimental to gameplay. I didn't buy it partly due to that.

Can I add football to the thread? Not videogame football, that's several magnitudes more interesting than the real thing.

It did according to Metacritic's database of reviews from the time:
http://www.metacritic.com/game/gamecube ... ic-reviews

I link this because I remember the high scores everywhere but I can't - off the top of my head - remember the exact mags I read back in 2003.

It's decent in multiplayer when nobody is really taking it seriously but overall, I didn't see any long term appeal.

I really like Super Circuit. I really loved how they brought back the coins.

I've never been able to get into it. I try every now and then but just end up playing a couple of races and turning it off again.

I don't like COD, find it to be very dull. I do have Modern Warfare 2 so should give it a try as isn't that supposed to be one of the best ones?

3D Deathchase on the Spectrum. Played it when it came out and played it on numerous occasions over the years and I just don't see what the fuss is about.
This.

Skyrim: I loved Oblivion so much that when I completed it I went back and did it all again with a different build. But Skyrim just seemed so boring and buggy. I actually preferred Two Worlds.

Bioshock: just a bunch of tedious fetch quests in dark, damp tunnels. So disappointing.

Dead Space: basically this...

Isaac, we need you to restore power to the ship.
Isaac, hi yeah we need you to restore power to the meteor shields.
Hi, yeah me again, can you now fix the tram system?
Hey, can you fix the gravity system?
Hi, me again, can you fix the vending machines and then if you don't mind someone has dropped a massive turd in the bogs in the third deck if you can just clean that up.

Agreed. I especially disliked MGS4; it's billed as a tactical espionage game, yet I found the stealth mechanic in Spiderman 2 to be more sophisticated and realistic!

Another one for me is GTA IV. I just found it so, so boring - especially when held up against the first two Saints Row games, which felt more like a GTA game than GTA IV did.

Gran Turismo would also be on my list, although perhaps unfairly as I simply just don't like racing-sims, so my dislike is more personal taste rather than critical evaluation.

I'm going to add the early Pro Evolution Soccer games. The AI would periodically decide you weren't going to win a match. You'd be left with your best players having the ball control of a toddler, while every rebound wiuld land at the feet of an AI player. Restart the match and it would be the same story. Move on to the next, however, and the game would be back to normal.

After PES4 I gave up on the series, so I've no idea if it still does this.

I love the old PES games but this was undeniable.

In those matches you'd constantly miss and then the AI would lump a ball upfield that you'd be unable to get near and they'd nick the goal.

I've always felt the actual racing element of GT and Forza wasn't really the priority, especially in later games. If anything, "racing" was the boring bit required in order to make money in order to buy more cars.

I think you're right about Gran Turismo, its kind of just car "porn". Less so I think for Forza, imo, as you have access to most of the cars from the outset. The driving experience is a lot more fun in Forza, and the AI isn't entirely braindead.
