What format do you play most games on?

I know this type of thing has been done before (possibly on the old board), but there seems to be much more talk of emulators on the forum now, so I think it would be interesting to ask again.

I voted for "other platforms" because I take my GP2X on the train and therefore average an hour or two each week, while I don't always have time at home for the PC-based stuff.
Why retro? Because you never forget your first love.

I would defenetly say that is a propper 'other'.

I have been playing some of the 'plugs-directly-into -tv' things lately, basicly because it's an easy way of playing some of my favorate old stuff with a decent joystick with an origonal feel.

Maybe i should have put these in as an option on their own :?

It would be interesting to see how many people use newer consoles to play retro games ether on 'official' retro-games-packs or 'unoficial' home brue MAME and other emulators software.

You can't play 'the most' on all of them...

...unless you are saying you do all three equaly!

I have NO idea whatsoever how to work emulation!

Have tried in the past but due to my inherent lack of patience, I gave up.

So, anyone fancy dropping me a PM so that I can play PC Engine versions of Chase HQ, R-Type and Shinobi please??

A Spekky one would be great to start with failing that.

Thanks!

Me too.

Emulation and i just don't speak the same language. I never got any of the old RG coverdiscs to work so i just stick with the originals.

Now that my PSP is away, I'm back to playing the originals.

Psp. Built a reasonable catalogue for games not a great outlay.
I also dont have much of a clue with emulation.

I play mine on a combination of all really. I use my PC for nearlly all emulating as it's convienient, I use my Dreamcast as a console and also for all my MAME stuff as it plays well on the DC and of couse I use some realy "original" consoles...
