^ Feels like MS smells blood in the water with that game and Minecraft not being allowed cross play with Sony. It's a big selling point for sure.

That's not great considering no box.

Caved in and grabbed the Switch version of Shantae alongside Mighty Gunvolt Burst. Shantae I already have (and love) for the Vita but it has performance issues where the Switch version does not (also it'll be nice playing the game on the big screen!) and Gunvolt is basically another Mega Man game so that was a no brainer purchase wise. Really looking forward to playing through both.

Ok. Played the first 8 stages of Mighty Gunvolt, and its a pretty great game. Only issue I have is some stages and boss fights are designed for trial and error - its not immediately clear what needs to be done so expect to die a few times before learning the patterns and enemy layout. Once you get that down though things become a lot easier and more fun. So far I've managed to S rank all of the stages with the default weapon and that's where most of the fun comes for me - managing to flawlessly shoot through the levels comboing off one enemy to the next. Boss designs are on the whole decent (bar Mighty No 2 who STILL sucks, she's better than she was in Mighty No 9 but only by a hair), Mighty No 4 and 7 being my favourites so far, MN6 is pretty fun as well but only when you get his pattern down (until then he seems like a cheap censored).

Glad to see that we are getting the Azure Gunvolt games on the Switch in the next couple of months, those are day 1 purchases for me coming off of how damn fun this game has been for me.

Switch Switchy. Still too pricey for me. Holding out for a pre-Christmas price drop, or at least a decent bundle.

I now have a Switch! Started off with Zelda with Mario and Puyo Puyo Tetris on the way. What a great system this is, a vast improvement on the Wii U - looking forward to seeing how this progresses.

Frugal is the word you're looking for

Actually, it's not all money - I still have a Wii with a dozen games I haven't really played properly. I'd be buying Mario Odyssey when I haven't properly played Mario Galaxy 1& 2 and NSMB Wii. It's hard to justify a new £300 purchase when I have games on the shelf waiting for game time.

I find it easier to devote certain days of the week to certain systems, like on Tuesday its the 360, Thursday is the PS3, weekends are my Wii-ends (Wii ands Wii U  ) and the rest are for my Switch. No idea what I'll do with my future XBONE and PS4 but I'll cross that bridge when I get to it. When a big new game like BOTW comes out, I drop the schedule to focus purely on that till I beat it and enter the postgame.

True, I understand not everyone has a ton of free time with work and family, but it is slowly helping me get through the last gen stuff I missed out on or just never beat or 100%-ed. Thanks to it, I recently got through Arkham Origins and now pretty close to 100%-ing Kirby's Epic Yarn (Which will be switched out for the Prime trilogy. Hell, 4 should be out by the time I beat all 3 right? )

Still need to figure out something for the retro systems but I'll figure it out eventually....

I just bought Super Mario 64 for about £4.50 on WiiU at the weekend. Still one of the greatest games ever. :)

There's a new system update with some actual new features like importing your friends list from Wii U and 3DS, some new icons, connecting a keyboard, and so on.

Broke down and ordered Cave Story +... I've already got the 3DS port but I'd much rather have it on my Switch (plus its got even more content/modes so that pushed me over the edge to order it). Looking forward to getting my hands on it this week, I'm still slowly getting through Zelda and I'm almost done on my first Mighty Gunvolt Burst playthrough so I'll probably start it right away
