The Switch has had a few issues such as the Joycon drift, but conceptually it's great, and I play docked with a controller most of the time anyway.

The library is already superb and the future is looking bright. Wish we were still getting the traditional big Direct presentation around now but I'm still confident Nintendo and it's partners will pleasantly surprise us Switch owners this year.

I'm for the most part a docked Switch player but having the option to go handheld and do Animal Crossing daily chores, especially as I got it digitally, has made a whole lot of difference. I can just slot the Switch out, quickly do daily chores like money trees, whatever the Nook kids are selling, fossils, etc. in around 30 mins while doing other things, and done. No need to bother switching out carts every time I want to do a quick visit to my island.

Don't get me wrong, I'm a physical collector through and through, but for a game like AC, digital makes all the difference.

There are a couple of issues I've got with downloads on the Switch.

Firstly, if you've got more than one console - and a lot of us are now running a Lite for handheld use alongside a regular Switch as a home console - games won't start on the second Switch unless an online check is made. That means you need the Lite to be your primary console, otherwise you'll somehow need to connect to the internet whenever you want to start a game.

Secondly, except on the primary console, games are locked to whichever account purchased them. So if you've got multiple users in your family who each want their own save file, you're going to have to make the regular Switch the primary console.

If you want to do both though, you're stuffed. Even if you buy everything on cartridge, the same rules apply to the DLC.

What it really needs is an offline mode, like Steam has, so you don't need to make your single-user Lite the primary console. Alternatively, having the ability to share games across your family group would be a good enough workaround. You can already do this with the online freebies like the NES and SNES games, so it probably wouldn't be too hard to extend that to all purchases.

Nintendo just released a new preview for Paper Mario, it looks fantastic, much more impressive than the initial reveal. Cant wait for this one. :D

Has anyone used one of those mayflash adaptors for use with different pads?. I'm thinking of using my ps4 pad instead of buying a pro controller ( I'm not keen on the layout).

More NEO GEO Pocket games are on the way, starting with King of Fighters R2 and Samurai Shodown II (Previously a pre-order bonus with the new SS game.)

While they are bloody good handheld games, they are a bit pointless when you can have the full fat KOF98, kinda the same with SamSho
The NGPC has some great exclusives that are worth playing, I genuinely don't see the point in porting these

Milking I guess, I mean there's 3 ways of owning KOF 97 on PS4 alone (The Arcade Archives version, Online version, and as part of that PS2 Collection.).

Yes, I initially bought it for the Neo Geo mini as I wasn't keen on the pads. Mainly use it with a Wii remote and an SNES classic controller or Wii U Pro controller. Works fine with a PS4 pad as well, there might possibly a bit of lag if you measured it but I've not noticed it personally.

Anybody used joy con hard plastic covers?

I'm thinking about buying some but I'm wondering if the buttons are hard to press with the added thickness making the buttons stick out less. I figured hard plastic would be better than the silicone ones that might be loose fitting.

Is it digital only? Can't find a physical copy to purchase anywhere. I'm assuming it's a remake of the Jap exclusive Gamecube version (which I have and love).

The demo is good - I nearly caved - however I have no work, so best not!
