I do enjoy the eshop sales, I'm certainly not short of games but I still hope there's something to tempt me. The eshop sales are so frequent I don't bother buying anything at full price.

Re: Nintendo Switch Discussion
I've been looking for deals on games but there isn't much in the way of big savings. Not opened the box yet and it won't be open until Xmas day - so no online sale stuff for me yet, also I've not actually bought any games!
Is it worth getting a years family online membership or should we just stick with the standard membership?

Actually, I was looking for an extra set of Joycon things. They aren't cheap! :O
Re: Nintendo Switch Discussion
Have you played New Super Lucky's Tale yet? It came out last Friday. Such a lot of fun
Re: Nintendo Switch Discussion
Tried the demo of that one, was quite impressed with it. Not a day 1 purchase but definitely something I'll grab when its on sale as I have several other games I gotta finish first!

Re: Nintendo Switch Discussion
Qubic Games are doing a big giveaway just now, like an advent calendar. Today's free game is One Strike, a decent 1 on 1 fighter.
http://www.nintendolife.com/news/2019/1 ... one_strike
You need to get the preceding games in the list to get the freebies each day, but they're dirt cheap to catch up if you missed any. By and large they aren't spectacular games, but offer value for money at the low price compared to the gaming time you'll get from them, and once you're on the chain it is just free games so that becomes less relevant.
I've never bothered with more JoyCons, though I'd rather get the grey ones than the garish blue/orange that came with it, but the Pro Controller is well worth a look if you don't need it for games that necessitate separate joycons for motion controls. That's reasonably priced compared to other system pads.

Might pick up Owlboy and Ori.
By the way, the sale includes 3DS and Wii U. Radiant Historia and Persona Q on 3DS are only £8 and £9 each, way cheaper than you'd have to pay for physical copies these days.

Re: Nintendo Switch Discussion
Picked a few games up on sale:
Blazing Chrome
River City Girls
Ori and the Blind Forest
Blaster Master Zero 2
Blasphemous
So yeah, plenty to play (and I have Dead Cells to keep me company for the rest of the time). I've cleared the first four levels in Blazing Chrome and love it. Its a mix of Contra 3 and Hardcorps, solid difficulty curve that gets easier once you get the level layouts and mechanics down.
River City Girls basically feels like an enhanced River City Rampage, with some pretty clever boss designs. Definitely a game I've been enjoying, ace music as well. Should hold me over until Streets of Rage 4 arrives.

Re: Nintendo Switch Discussion
I'm going to pick up Alien Isolation, since I never got round to finishing it on 360 and its a great game I want to spend more time with. Hoped it might creep into a Christmas sale, but not too bothered that it didn't. £30 still seems like good value given I picked up the old one for next to nothing.

Re: Nintendo Switch Discussion
Given that it comes with all the DLC included, £30 is an incredible price.Antiriad2097 wrote: ↑Fri Dec 27, 2019 6:57 amI'm going to pick up Alien Isolation, since I never got round to finishing it on 360 and its a great game I want to spend more time with. That's the same price as the PC version on Steam with all the DLC.learnedrobb wrote: ↑Fri Dec 27, 2019 7:23 amGiven that it comes with all the DLC included, £30 is an incredible price.Antiriad2097 wrote: ↑Fri Dec 27, 2019 6:57 amI'm going to pick up Alien Isolation, since I never got round to finishing it on 360 and its a great game I want to spend more time with. Then again, you don't have to be taking a particularly cynical view of the games industry to find it incredible that a new console port wouldn't command something of a premium.

£30 for an actual physical product, or £30 for a digital download... I know what I would call the better deal.Matt_B wrote: ↑Fri Dec 27, 2019 4:03 pmThat's the same price as the PC version on Steam with all the DLC.learnedrobb wrote: ↑Fri Dec 27, 2019 7:23 amGiven that it comes with all the DLC included, £30 is an incredible price.Antiriad2097 wrote: ↑Fri Dec 27, 2019 6:57 amI'm going to pick up Alien Isolation, since I never got round to finishing it on 360 and its a great game I want to spend more time with. Digital Foundry did a comparison between it and other portsAntiriad2097 wrote: ↑Fri Dec 27, 2019 6:57 amI'm going to pick up Alien Isolation, since I never got round to finishing it on 360 and its a great game I want to spend more time with. In some ways it ended up better than modern gen ones, in others worse
