Re: Nintendo Switch Discussion
The Nintendo Direct at E3 was good, lots of stuff to look forward too. Still can't believe that they do not have a new Mario Kart yet

Nothing too exciting that I've seen so far.

That's why Nintendo goes last at E3, there's no following that! Really enjoyed that presentation, it was just relentless, game after game after game.
And they didn't even show everything we know about, like Town, Bayonetta 3 and of course Metroid Prime 4.

Don't forget No More Heroes 3, Panza Dragoon and Contra.

Re: Nintendo Switch Discussion
Nope. A couple of ports of old console games, nothing really new I can see myself buying. Poor show when the best I'm looking forward to are old RE games from my pile of shame, though at least I never did buy Witcher 3.

Re: Nintendo Switch Discussion
Each to their own, I guess, but it was a pretty good one for me. It's nice to have dates for Link's Awakening and Animal Crossing, even if the latter is next year, and the news of a sequel to Breath of the Wild in the works is huge for me.
With good third party games regularly turning up out of the blue it's not like Nintendo's E3 is the all or nothing event that it was with the Wii U either.

I thought it was an excellent Direct - sure, could have had other stuff in it - that will always be the case.
The only downer for me was the lack of a Christmas big hitter - I was hoping for Animal Crossing, so my daughter and I could have some fun with that over the festive period.

I'd think that Doom Eternal and those two Pokemon games will be the Christmas big hitters for most people. Fair play if that's not what your daughter is into though.slacey1070 wrote: ↑Wed Jun 12, 2019 6:16 amI thought it was an excellent Direct - sure, could have had other stuff in it - that will always be the case.

Oh yes - I have zero interest in pokemon, so that sorta went over my head - thanks for pointing that out!Matt_B wrote: ↑Wed Jun 12, 2019 7:08 amI'd think that Doom Eternal and those two Pokemon games will be the Christmas big hitters for most people. Re: Nintendo Switch Discussion
Plus we have Mario and Sonic Olympics in November which okay is another one of those party games, but they did seem to hint a retro mode with 8 and 16 bit sprites.
I suspect there'll be at least 2 more Nintendo Directs this year to announce even more stuff coming. We've yet to hear anything of those new Switch models too.

Re: Nintendo Switch Discussion
Only game showed in the Switch Direct that disappointed me was that butt ugly new Contra game. No idea why it looks so damn bad, Capcom managed to bring Mega Man back with a nice graphical style yet Contra looks so bad, reminds me of those bad PSOne Contra games back in the day. That said, since the Contra collection is out now, I'm going to just grab that instead, along with the Mana collection for some more retro fun.

Re: Nintendo Switch Discussion
Do they even exist though?
I'm sure they'll happen eventually, but I don't see the need to rush them. The Switch is selling well as it is, and I think they're only giving people more reasons to buy one in it's current form at it's current price. The new Pokemon alone will shift tons of Switches, especially as they'll almost certainly do some limited edition bundles. They can do special editions for a number of upcoming titles, like Luigi' Mansion, Fire Emblem, Dragon Quest and Link's Awakening. And people will buy them, especially Pokemon.

Re: Nintendo Switch Discussion
Happy with their E3 showing: No More Heroes is a big fave of mine, so I'm obviously delighted there's a sequel incoming. With that, Link's Awakening, Mario Maker and Revolver's indie stuff, I'll be kept plenty busy!

I was hoping Animal Crossing would launch sooner too. After all they've been teasing us with this for a while!slacey1070 wrote: ↑Wed Jun 12, 2019 6:16 amI thought it was an excellent Direct - sure, could have had other stuff in it - that will always be the case.

For those still yet to bite on Starlink, its now down to £11.99 brand new at Argos as well as a fair few of the figurines as low as £1.79.

Still resisting, haha. The price is great but I think having a variety of weapons and ships would be more fun so I might try to get it on sale digitally when I have a bigger memory card.
