Are the Ages games only available via digital distribution? I've never seen any of them in stores, nor on Ebay. Phantasy Star be one I'd want to get.
Yeah just digital

Could be worse, you could think you are buying it physically and only get a download code

Same deal for the recently announced Outer Worlds port.

You get a case, with a download code inside. Totally pointless, and a waste of plastic.

But its a box for a Switch game

We live in a world where people collect bits of plastic crap that serve no purpose but to sit on a shelf and remind you that you paid for it.

I believe Argos also do a budget range of games that are just a digital code in a box as well.

As for SEGA Ages, they could later down the road do a physical collection like the 3DS ones got, but yeah for now they're eShop exclusive.

They've u-turned on that and there'll now be a physical release.

Don't be too surprised if it's another case of just getting a stub on an 8GB cart while you download the rest though.

That wouldn't surprise me at all.

Nintendo really need to bring down the price of the higher capacity cards.

We're only talking about $10 (exact figure hidden behind an NDA) or so on the price for a larger cart as it stands and that's mostly just the extra cost of making them. The problem is that there's nowhere to absorb that cost in a business model where the amount allocated for media costs is usually measured in cents. The publishers aren't going to bear it and there are enough grumbles about Switch tax as is to pass it on to consumers.

Besides, the game will almost certainly come with a huge day one patch download that'll make the idea that you're actually getting the whole game on the cart moot anyway.

No. Maybe something else that will come with the Pro?

You should get points for any games that come with it though.

Somewhat. You get points if you register the game within 2 years of its release, so launch games like BOTW and whatnot no longer do. Also if you buy a game used and its previous owner registered it, no points. All digital copies though give you point regardless.

The usual jump through hoops Nintendo approach to certain things.

Bought the Dead Cells DLC today, absolute no brainer. I noticed they even added an extra level for free last week. Game seems a tad harder though.

I really need to go back to that, brilliant game. Still haven't completed a first run of it but gotten pretty far.

I should've had Samurai Shodown today but the post's been late with it 🙁
