I've got somes questions about the Xenoblade 2 DLC. Basically the game presents the extra content as gifts from the in-game menu to be accessed individually. Is it safe to just go ahead and 'open' these or should I be cautious about when to do so? For instance some of the content are items, are these a one-time thing, or are they available for every playthrough? Currently I have finished the story and am just playing on with my original game file.
Are you starting a New Game+ run or just deleting your data to really start over? If New Game+, then yes the DLC items you use in your game file will be a one time gift. I have no idea what happens if you delete your data.

The Legendary Cores will come in handy in New Game+ as there a few Extra Blades to unlock exclusive to New Game+.

Ok, thanks.

For now I wanted just to continue my current save and do some post game stuff. I'll leave the items for my next playthrough, but I thought maybe I could do some extra quests or something. I was wondering if that sort of thing is available on any playthrough?

I think there are Extra Quests on the Pass, but not 100% sure. A lot carries over into New Game+, only really the Quests are the only thing you have to redo mostly (It would be wise to finish up any Blade side quests that take a long time like Ursula or you'll start over for their Affinity unlock in New Game+).

I read somewhere that the paid DLC content (missions/challenges etc) has to be unlocked from the menu on any given playthrough, so perhaps the items can be used in each playthough aswell.

I've just accessed a challenge mode that features characters from the first Xenoblade game, apparently I can earn new costumes for the main blades which is cool.

Despite a little confusion I am impressed by the content of the game as a whole, and the approach to the DLC. The DLC pass is not cheap, though it was just on sale, but despite the high upfront price you do get your monies worth. I bought the physical Torna edition but in any format that is probably worth the price alone.

Looking forward to Smash now. The Switch's future is looking very bright for me, I still have several big games in my backlog and Luigi, Yoshi, Fire Emblem, Metroid, Bayonetta, No More Heroes are all must buys for me. :D

btw. speaking of costumes and Smash, there was an update recently for both XC2 games which adds a free optional outfit for Mythra based off her censored outfit for her Smash Spirit (Less boob and wearing stockings). ;)

Nice to see a re-release of OutRun, even though the music is remixed and the car model is changed up (understandable, they aren't gonna splash the cash for the Ferrari license).

Wish they'd re-release Coast 2 Coast too, although that would require more work due to the need to modify all those Ferraris in the game.
Have you got a PSP? That's the best way (or the only way?) to play C2C on mobile, it's a beautiful version.

You can also play it in HD on the GPD Win:

A Switch port would be nice though. The game has long vanished from online stores and it's getting expensive to track down a physical copy.

I think the PS2 version of C2C is more common, its the OG XBox version that people seem to demand upwards to £30+ for. Found the PS2 version in a charity shop not too long ago and did a price check.

Couple of reveals at the Game Awards.

*Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3 is a thing, developed by Team Ninja, published by Nintendo and will be a Switch exclusive.

*Crash Team Racing is getting the Remaster treatment and we don't have to wait this time. Coming June.

*Joker from Persona 5 is the first DLC Character of the Character Pass for Smash Bros Ultimate.

Marvel looks good, excited for that. Never played a MA game but the similar X-men Legends games were really good.

One more bit, we're also getting Mortal Kombat 11 this April.

The trailer was fun but it doesn't mean a great deal without gameplay, so I'm reserving my excitement for now. Glad it's on the Switch though.

True! It must be very far along if they have announced for April. Sounds like they have a nice marketing plan set up and there will be gameplay at the community event in Feb.

All the ships and add ons are half price too.
