I've just picked up Civilization VI, and would have to say that it's a really good port, with very little obviously missing from the PC version.

Ideally, it's best played using the touch screen, as that's the interface of choice where you haven't got a keyboard and mouse. However, it's also fully usable - if a teeny bit clunky in places - in docked mode just using a controller. That makes me wonder if there'll be ports to the other home consoles eventually.

Just had an email from the official Nintendo store:

We are contacting you as the GameCube Controller adapter has been postponed until May 2019 due to unforeseen production issues.

Meanwhile I have no idea if that includes me, who preordered the special edition with the game, controller and adapter.

I've pre ordered the Zelda Hori Battle Pad, so I'll use that when Smash comes out.

I'll still get my Gamecube controllers and wait for the official adapter. I imagine the Wii U ones will be pricy now the Switch version has been delays.

After a couple of months not being used, my Switch is now back in action thanks to Taiko No Tatsujin!

OK, I'm knackered after about 15 minutes using the drum peripheral, but still, it's bloody good fun.

I gave up with Mario 3 on the online service, I could not get to grips with the button layout. So now I'm playing through the All Stars version on my phone with an 8bit do controller.

Thanks Nintendo.

Outrun is out on the Japanese eshop. I grabbed it on Thursday and am loving it. Looks and plays great in handheld mode, 60FPS feels wonderful (first time playing the 60FPS version), and the unlockable car upgrades are a nice difficulty modifier. I can see me playing loads of this in the coming months.

Which Outrun? The original, or the new one from a few years back?

I've got somes questions about the Xenoblade 2 DLC. Basically the game presents the extra content as gifts from the in-game menu to be accessed individually. Is it safe to just go ahead and 'open' these or should I be cautious about when to do so? For instance some of the content are items, are these a one-time thing, or are they available for every playthrough? Currently I have finished the story and am just playing on with my original game file.

Nice to see a re-release of OutRun, even though the music is remixed and the car model is changed up (understandable, they aren't gonna splash the cash for the Ferrari license).

Wish they'd re-release Coast 2 Coast too, although that would require more work due to the need to modify all those Ferraris in the game.
