What's Your Favourite Vector Arcade Game?

Post by The Laird » Sat Oct 08, 2016 5:54 pm

As the title says, what's your favourite vector graphics based arcade game?

Here's a video that will remind you of 40 of the best ones out there: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_FUyMWlXKYU

I have always loved vector games, they just have this wonderful unique look with the glowing lines against the black backgrounds.

Mine has to be this one, I think there are very few movie based games that captured the feel of the film so well, and I am not even a Star Wars fan!

I voted for Star Wars. At the time, that was my favourite. These days it's actually Asteroids.

I'll go Asteroids, as the first one I played it still has a special place for me. Love Star Wars, Trek and Tempest, but Asteroids for me

Black Widow. Space Duel comes a close second.
If it's slower than me, dumber than me and it tastes good ... tough titty.

Both great games and I wanted to put them in the poll but would only let me have 10 options so chose the most well known games :(

Tough choice between Asteroids and Tempest, however I went with Asteroids, because I'd happily sit and play that for a couple of hours now, where as I find tempest a bit frustrating (but that may be because my eyes aren't as good as they were)

Liked the Amiga version of Star Wars, but not sure I ever played the arcade version... for shame!

Starwars was class, but a game way ahead of its ,time that was "Major Havoc" to which I voted on, very clever game, is this a some sort of survey for a future article? Or a making of?

It was just something I was thinking about over the weekend, no real reason for it, just thought it would be interesting. I am a big Major Havoc fan too, absolutely fantastic game, big shame the Jaguar sequel never got anywhere.
