Re: Which 6th gen console was your fave?
Really good but tough question.
It's also made me realise it's the last gen I bought all the consoles out at the time due to me wanting games so bad on all of them.
The order I got them was DC, Game Cube, Xbox then PS2.
If I had to pick one it would probably be the xbox even though the cube runs very close due to Resident Evil alone. I got a 360 on launch due to liking the original machine so much. I never generally buy consoles on launch day. I'm still to upgrade from the 360 due to the sheer amount of games I still want to play.
The DC I had a lot of fun on and the PS2 was very important due to the sheer number of games. I'm not a huge fan of JRPG's though and I prefered the Capcom fighters on the DC with the official arcade stick. Also Code Veronica was a game I wanted so much at the time.
Certainly the market is more level now with most of the same games available across the board. Unless of course your wanting Nintendos output.

I owned them all at one stage during their cycle, the Dreamcast and Xbox coming out top for me, between them they had the best arcade games, best online play, plus i must be the only one that hates the Playstation controllers! they were ok for PS1 games, but the left analogue is in the wrong place for me!

Re: Which 6th gen console was your fave?
PS2 for me. It was the place to be for SNK conversions and also for JRPG's like Disgaea etc.....
Re: Which 6th gen console was your fave?
Easily the PS2. The others might as well not exist, as I never saw them, or played on them.

You can't beat the Cube.
Re: Which 6th gen console was your fave?
Hard question as they all had exclusive Triple A titles..
Nobody was as outspoken about the Xbox then me but after being given a modded crystal x box loaded with emulators for free off Aztecca, I'd say the X Box.. Really good Mame and BOR emulators and getting to play all the scrolling fighters gets played more than anything..
Got the most fun from the PS2 as it had the largest selection of games that appealed to me..

Re: Which 6th gen console was your fave?
I always see the DC as a pre-generation console, because it was out so much earlier than the others
I moved from there to the Xbox, which is one of my favourite machines ever, then my (now ex) wife bought me a gamecube for my birthday, which had some fun games on it. Never really got on that well with the PS2 in all honesty, unlike the PS3. Still got a huge stack of PS2 games to look at, but not a lot of enthusiasm for it really.
Xbox > DC > Gamecube > PS2 for me.

Was never a Nintendo fan - until the Cube arrived. Cube was a fantastic little machine - so got my vote.
We had a PS2 at the time and it just seemed - so generic.

Wow close poll. I think that reflects the excellence and quality that entire generation had.

One interesting fact is that both the PS3 (86m) and the PS4 (40m) have long since outsold the original XBox (24m).

Re: Which 6th gen console was your fave?
most difficult question ever
I cannot choose....
PS2 - Shadow of The Colossus
Xbox - Battlefield 2 Modern Combat
Gamecube - Super Monkey Ball - Monkey Target
Dreamcast - Rez
each machine has amazing games, I own all of them and still play on them
Its a four way tie....

Yeah, I'm not sure what's interesting about that. The Beans wrote:What is interesting about this fact?English Invader wrote:One interesting fact is that both the PS3 (86m) and the PS4 (40m) have long since outsold the original XBox (24m).
Pretty sure the Xbox outsold the Gamecube.

I went with the Dreamcast, but it was a close call between that and the GameCube.
Rather sadly, apart from the 2 Shenmue games, I don't think we ever got to see developers really stretch the DC to it's limits. It sure would have been interesting to see what could have bene achieved with another year or two of games behind it.
