Personally, I'd rather see Master Chief Collection getting a PC release, but it's better than nothing and I'm sure the community will do impressive stuff with it.
Let's not forget Halo was, for a certain time, a PC and Mac game (here a vid that promotes the then top graphics card, Nvidia GeForce 2 GTS) before Bungie was bought by MS and the game became a Xbox (timed) exclusive. Although it's also true that it did a much bigger impression on the consoles than it did on PCs where we had a too big selection of good FPS games back in those times.

Meh. I played the first one on Windows. It was average at best.

Me too and I liked it, it had some unique approaches for the time, but it could be said that they re-treaded the formula too much in the sequels. Felt like a mixture of the past big PC shooters like Unreal, Half-Life and Battlezone to me. I'd welcome the "Anniversary Edition" with updated visuals and all (also part of the MCC, alongside updated Halo 2 and 3).theantmeister wrote:Meh. I played the first one on Windows.
