Bad Influence or Gamesmaster

Post by David » Sat Aug 27, 2016 6:14 pm

What was your favourite?

Bad Influence for me. Always preferred it and thought it was a much better programme (apart from the wee guy that done reports from America he really used to annoy me for some reason)

Gamesmaster always seemed more about "look at me im dominik diamond and I'm great" and having since seen first hand what an utter c*nt he is just settled it for me.

Gamesmaster

Bad influence was ill informed and if it wasn't for Violet would of been annoying

Watched an episode earlier of bad influence where the Leeds United players were reviewing football games.

One guy was playing snes Striker. Except the snes didn't have a game in it and he wasn't pressing any buttons :)

Also the reviews

Castlevaina bloodlines 2
Shaq-Fu - 4
Zelda GB - 3
And the missing Rise of the robots review, from the second series they had some of its FMV as parts of the intro

Gamesworld from Sky was my favourite. Tbh it was more humour than game, but I did enjoy it.

Sorry to hear DD isn't a nice person, but I really did enjoy 'When Games Attack' which I thought was really funny.

Gamesmaster is a bit dull, it's really only Dom's innuendo that livens it up. Watching some kid play a game for 60 sconds isn't very entertaining. I watched it, but because it was rare to see video footage of new games rather than for the competitions.

Bad Influence is and remains a much better show, though it's pitched at a very young audience. That put me off at the time, but I've watched them since and there's a lot of good content in there.

Gamesworld was appalling, a really unwatchably cheesy Gamesmaster clone.

I've never really watched either. All the stuff on telly about video games seems a bit rubbish to me. I sometimes watched that one with the scottish bloke that had Queeny and Cugly in it.
If it's slower than me, dumber than me and it tastes good ... tough titty.

I saw a guy say to Dominik Diamond once, jokingly, a few years back "hey when's the next series of gamesmaster"

And his reply was "censored off I don't play stupid f*cking computer games"

Yeah mate you are a serious journalist, what with a daily star column and all

Wow, what a jerk he sounds. Considering computer games formed part of his most successful (well, at least based on fame) period of his career, you'd think he be grateful, rather than bitter.

Definitely Bad Influence, I never saw the appeal of competitive gaming really (which Gamesmaster mostly was) and preferred factual stuff.

Yeah. Yeah it was puerile fun, but at least it never pretended to be something it wasn't. Tbh though 'Barry's game pad' or whatever it was called was only one of the days. Iirc each day had a different theme. The episodes I liked where the competitive ones, where players gambled coins they had earned against the 'videators' . Bob Mills was a great host with the right amount of humour (far moreso than DD on GM).
