Went in the CEX at Burton today and saw that they had a used copy of Pokemon Heart Gold complete in the big outer box for...£80!!!! :o :o :o :o :o . I know Pokemon Go has pushed prices up everywhere but eighty-friggin-quid?!? There was another copy in the same condition a few cabinets down for £62 as well. I still need either this one or Soul Silver but not at those sorts of prices. Couple of copies of White which used to be £8 in CEX were now marked up at £32 apiece...

They had a few GC games:

Metal Gear Solid Twin Snakes £45
Wind Waker £28
Smash Bros Melee £26
Mario Sunshine £18

I already have two of those and have had the other two in the past (and no interest in owning them again) so fortunately, I didn't have to try and decide whether those were good prices or not!

Retro-wise I saw a boxed N64 copy of Banjo Kazooie for £32. Looked in decent condition from the outside but I don't collect N64 so I didn't fancy gambling that much money on it.

Odd, mine was selling the black boxed Goldeneye for £18.

And they also had the Steel Battalion controller as well.

£140 for the Steel Battalion controller and both games is not a bad price. The main issue for me would be storage

You think that's bad? I saw today they wanted £75 for the Pokemon Go Plus device....

CeX Wrexham actually had some boxed NES games in the window!

Three to be precise - I already have Excitebike and Chip 'n' Dale but I did buy Tiny Toon Adventures.

I was in Bath yesterday and they have an independent video game store with a significant amount of retro but it was way overpriced. £40 for an original DMG Gameboy, £60 for a loose N64 and £110 for a loose copy of Conker's Bad Fur Day (was pleased to see that in the store but not at that price).
That wasn't "Planet Games and Entertainment / Pink Planet" by any chance was it? I have been to a few of them in Chippenham and Bristol and they are WAY over priced!

They had some Super Famicom controllers last week for £12, some with zero yellowing. Was tempted but considering I still have to even get my SNES fixed....

Well don't worry too much; pretty sure Jap pads are region locked and won't work on PAL machines anyway. There's a mod you have to do on the SNES PCB so that all pads from any region will work.

My local CEX had an ice blue N64 that they're asking about £90 for! It came with an expansion pack but had lost the cover. No sign of a box either. Bargain.

Boy, they really didnt want American gamers getting their hands on the more colourful buttons. Might explain why they never got the Wii SNES controller either.
