Some of my faves: R-Type, Shinobi and Wonder Boy III : The Dragon's Trap.

It is a shame that Gamestation no longer sell retro stuff. My local one no longer even has GC stuff, IIRC.

My... this is a very old thread of mine isn't it!? Started on the very day I joined! Buying retro games from Gamestation? I remember that!

Lol it makes me sad that buying retro games from Gamestation is now... retro. I LOVED seeing our consoles of old on sale amongst the new stuff - made me proud, retro gaming had been recognised as... a thing. Picked up plenty of bargains too, that said the known rare stuff was overpriced, but hey, they weren't as bad as our MEGA RARE thread favourites.

Hehe, I'm actually on my third Master System since then, let alone the games - I've been through more than I can remember!

Could see the day GS stopped doing retro after GAME bought them, never thought I'd see the day CeX would do the same, but here we are...

Never seen a single retro game in CEX, but in the past year I've had a fair few SMS games from the local GameStation... I was in there two days ago and they had four Saturn games and a few GBA games too. Maybe they didn't get the memo?

CeX actually started out almost entirely retro, and until a few months ago most stores still had a decent-sized retro section.

It was taking us a long time to get through and we had gotten to the final stage for the first time, when I needed a wazz. This was at about 11pm, which at that age is a late night gaming session, so we were both knackered. As my mate was sitting nearest I asked him to pause the game. He hit the reset button by mistake.
But Double Dragon for the SMS only takes 20 minutes to beat! And the SMS version had unlimited credits.
I was about 7 years old at the time, if that! Probably took us about 40 mins, but at that age, that's a long time.

They're great for PS2 games. The only trouble is that they often have manuals missing or scratched discs. Sometimes they might also put a Platinum edition disc in a normal edition box, so always best to check before you pay. Their GameCube games a bit bit pricey, too.

Are there any good stores for PSX and N64 games?

One of my most favourite MS games was Spellcaster, an action adventure with RPG stylings that inspired my love of all RPG's.

What other old threads can be dug up I wonder?

Can't believe no-one's mentioned Astro Warrior, I love that game to pieces! Power Strike 1 and 2 are both must haves too, pricey though.
