I don't normally buy special editions.

I did buy Starfox Zero for the physical copy of Guard, and I will sometimes buy a special edition if it has a controller. Something That's actually useful.

I have however bought Twilight princess HD, and Yoshis wooly world special editions with the Amiibos. I don't collect Amiibos but I got them cheap and they were the same price as the normal version.

I've been picking up all Wii U special editions, for no other reason than they're guaranteed to be worth money due to the system being a spectacular flop.

Some of those special editions are already through the roof. Have to admit the special editions with Amiibos look really nice. I have picked up the First print Starfox Zero edition with shirt, Twilight princess HD special edition, Yoshis wooly world, and just bought Animal crossing from a friend who did not like the game.

only console I have ever bothered buying special editions on a regular basis TBH.

Anything that isn't in standard game. Extra DLC is a bonus...
