Hi All

I just wondered what your favourite Text Game was for the Speccy?*

Among my favourites were

Play It Again Sam
Last Will And Testament
Lord Of The Rings
Hampstead
The Jewel Of Power
The Growing Pains Of Adrian Mole
Murder He Said

What about Your favourite Text Based Speccy Games

*I know I asked this once before but it got lost from the forum, so no harm in asking again...

In terms of text adventures, I'd say Snowball, The Worm In Paradise and Guild Of Thieves.

I suppose you could also count most management games as being predominantly text-based, so I'd add Football Manger, The Biz and Dictator to the list.

I'll run with The Boggit and Bored of the Rings.

I've yet to devote much time to my recent Zenobi purchase with the unexpected arrival of a Wii, but I anticipate some new favourites will be in there.

(CDs still available to buy folks :D )

Dracular was a good one as well
Moron's Quest springs to mind too, as does The War Of The Worlds.

I've been playing through them this afternoon.

Any other suggestions?

Haven't played Snowball or The Worm In Paradise though I've got them on my emulator package.

Never heard of Behind Closed Doors.

What's it like?

Any others anyone?

in the mists of my memory,
i remember playing a speccy text adventure where you was stuck in a toilet.
i vaguely remember you had to stick a newspaper under the door,
then something into the keyhole, so the key would fall out the lock and on to the newspaper.

it may have very well come free with sinclair user or your sinclair,
does anyone have any idea what the game was?

Stuck in a Toilet?

Sounds like a BOG STANDARD game to me!

Did you see what I said?

Thanks, I'm here till Thursday!

Seriously though do you have the game still?

Why not load it up, check out the loading screen and tell all...

That will probably be Behind Closed Doors by Zenobi then and it was given away by SU once upon a time.

Yes, the toilet game is Behind Closed Doors.

I just checked it out on the Your Sinclair website

http://www.ysrnry.co.uk

Actually, I'll check the old emulator and see if I have it...

excellent!
Behind Closed Doors it is,
thanks walrus and Naitch.
downloaded it and booted it up for a quick go.
damn i forgot how restrictive text adventure parsers are.

the other text adventures i thoroughly enjoyed on the speccy are
the Boggit, very funny stuff.
Never Ending Story 128k version, it was like being immersed in the film.
