Auction Ended! CD32 Brian The Lion Disc Only Value

Post by c0nfu53d » Mon Apr 18, 2016 12:01 pm

I'm gonna add some CD32 games to my trade thread most complete but poor old Brian is disc only :( and I have Zero idea of its worth. eBay has given me no clues what so ever.

Any ideas what I should ask for it? Anybody want it?

Well it's rumoured that it was never officially released on CD32, despite being produced and ready for release. I'm convinced that it was, but only in very small amounts. There are images of the CD32 box floating around the internet to prove it's a real product. But did it ever hit the shop floors?

If you had a fully boxed version it would be worth a small fortune - but disk only? Maybe £10-£15?

Thanks for the info I'm gonna play through the CD32 games I have before I get rid of them. The system seems to have quite a few good games and my experience with the Amiga is limited to 10 mins on Wonder Boy in Monster Land on the A500.

Brian The Lion seems to be a good place to start as any.

Seriously? I'm sure the only cd32 game i have ever seen in the wild was brian the lion, in a charity shop. and i bought it. never even looked to see if it was worth much. i'm going to have to check now... well, when i've sorted out what is where, anyway!

Doesn't work very well in an emulator. I'm using a low power netbook so I'm not really surprised. Any way I decided to bung in on eBay in the end 99p start. At least we'll know how much it is worth by Monday night.

I have a disc only copy of this game that came with a batch of 20 or so games when I bought my Cd32 back in 2012, I had no idea it was scarce at all, It's quite a fun little game and I will be interested to see what it goes for in the end.

Not bad for just the disc, I watched the auction. I reckon a boxed version will be worth quite a bit...

Strangely Lotus Trillogy finished 2 quid more than Brian dispute being a lot more common.

The Lotus games were quite desirable back then so people maybe knew them better. I loved them esp Lotus 3.

Woo-hoo! My prediction was close. I'm glad you got a good price for just the CD. It genuinely is a rare item, but without the box it's not massively collectable and it very easy to download the ROM and put it on your own CD.

If anyone has any information whether this game was officially released in the UK, then please post it here. :D

According to HOL it was released and isn't particularly rare. http://hol.abime.net/209

Not sure but that might be the Amiga A1200 version. The CD32 version has more levels.
