Any super famicom collectors?

Post by David » Fri Jan 01, 2016 8:58 am

Loose sfc gsmes are stupidly cheap just now

But boxed sfc games look awesome.

Anyone collect sfc? Do you buy loose carts or boxed games?

My worry about loose carts is that i buy too much just cause theynare so cheap and never get round to playing them all

Just looking through ebay just now, the boxed games look amazing but the greedy part of me is saying i can get 20 good loose games for the price of 7 or 8 boxed ones

I love the Super famicom boxes.

I am currently at around 60 CIB SFC games.

Area 88, Contra spirits, Castlevania IV, etc.

I have a few Super Famicom games and, while the boxes are very nice, I did resort to cart only for a few higher priced games (Turtles in Time and Final Fight 2 come to mind). That's ok though, most of my SNES collection is cart only.

I've said it before, but I'm always amazed at how much better condition SFC boxes are usually in, compared to Super Nintendo boxes. Don't know why that is. More selective / careful owners?

I recently bought about a dozen new SFC games.

I need to start posting in the what new games have you bought thread as used to post pics all the time but just never bothered for ages.

Thanks for the offer, that's really kind of you but I have too many games to play and would not feel right accepting a game I may not end up playing. Plus I have some already and I may already have it.

You should give it a try though, there are some Snes gundam games that are all action and a lot of fun. I have a few and some of them are quite good.

I've started buying them recently, mainly to play. I started out with JRPG's because I'm currently learning the language but I'll probably ditch a few of them because I won't have time to play all of them.
With the way SNES prices are right now SFC is the best way to go, it is starting to increase in price as well though, people have caught on, it's NTSC 60hz and cheaper than PAL so expect the prices to start rocketing soon.

I have over 100 games about 70 boxed Super Famicom games about 15 - 20 boxed American and pal games and a load of lose games.. It's the super Famicom scrolling beat em ups that are crazy prices.. Captain Commando, Undercover Cols and King of Ddagons your lucky to get cheaper then £80 for lose carts

I saw Super Streetfighter 2 go for under £4 on Ebay recently. Can't go wrong with that.

I've ended up with about 30 top titles on the SFC that would not have been an option on the SNES

I do find that some Capcom games flicker on the SFC, usually it's the shadow under the character that flickers. Same thing happens with my American version of Turtles Tournament Fighters on a converter. Anyone know why this is?

I use a retron 5 now, means I can just pick up any snes, nes, and MD games from any region with no worry.

Love the look of Super famicom boxed games on a shelf.

And a few others I found that weren't in that block...
