Gaming - New Year Resolutions
You got any?
I resolve to definitely, finally, absolutely make an effort to get into The Witcher 3. I'm going to pick a day and play it until I get past my gamer's block with it.
I resolve to set some decent highscores on the Xbox One version of Pinball FX2 and put some time into playing Pinball Arcade.
On the retro front I'm going to play some NES and Master System games. These systems have had near zero attention from me over the years and it's time to change that.
I'm going to use The Quill (or something) to write a text adventure.

If it's slower than me, dumber than me and it tastes good ... tough titty.

To spend more of my limited spare time playing games & less talking about them on the Internet.
I like this idea. The Beans wrote:

Re: Gaming - New Year Resolutions
Well, I started a good habit of starting one game and playing it through to the end without getting too distracted by other games, so I will defiantly try to continue this into next year.
Re: Gaming - New Year Resolutions
Play less, spend more of my time doing something useful/productive.

Re: Gaming - New Year Resolutions
Play less Winning Eleven 6 FE, and actually clear my wanting to be played/finished backlog.
Despite the above, I will finally have a perfect season (i.e. win every game) on WE6 on extreme difficulty, I have been very close a few times, sometimes with just the one drawn game spoiling it.
Buy a Wii-U.

Re: Gaming - New Year Resolutions
been doing it a little bit, but going to go through my collection game by game, giving each game a good playthrough and either play them through or if I am not feeling the game sell it. also carry on repcaing all my games with complete copies.
Re: Gaming - New Year Resolutions
Seeing games through to completion is a good shout, I have a huge backlog and instead of jumping to and from I might be better off just sticking with one at a time and actually making progress
Re: Gaming - New Year Resolutions
Talk about games on here less, complete more stuff and get rid of more completed games rather than just keeping hold of them all.
Only buy specific titles that I've been after for ages and hunt them down rather than spending money on random games in shops/from forum sales etc.

Retro is a state of mind, and cares not for your puny concepts like dates and calendars.

Re: Gaming - New Year Resolutions
I really should be playing less and focussing more on finding a career. Need to sort out and sell all the stuff I don't use any more as well. Likely to only buy a few sale bargains, although if the reviews are good I will get Doom and Deus Ex

Devote more time to Retro Gaming full stop! I enjoy it more than I do current gen gaming on PS4 and Xbox One.

Re: Gaming - New Year Resolutions
I'm going to reduce the amount of time I spend playing games like Clash of Clans and Xpert11. I tend to play these thinking I don't gave time to get into more involved games but the time I spend on these is significant!
I could've finished Yoshi's Wooly World and MK8 200cc by now!
