My dad lives in Bolton... Definitely a "do-able" distance :D
My comics blog (mostly lesser-known UK stuff from the 80s and 90s)

The new place will have about 200 machines ! It's moving from Haslingden to Bury (easy to get to from Manchester) this weekend. This is the guy who supplies most of the shows with machines

Hope RG do an interview with him. Largest arcade outside of the US. Only £10 to get in. All machines on free play
Thanks for starting a thread, we are now open! :)
if anyone has any questions, please feel free to ask me in this thread.

Facebook and the website will be updated this week

I was lucky to get a look around on friday when they were having a warm up for friends/family.

Impressive place ! A ton of arcade machines, lots of room as well. Got a lot of old favourites, plus they've got some consoles set up for modern games and 8 bit computers, playing the Speccy with a Divide with tons of games was great as well !

Funny playing some of the games and realising how hard they are, i love Commando but cant get past the second level in the arcades ! Anyway an amazing place, shall be going back very soon

There's a link for Arcade Club on first page of this thread. Address on official page says it's Ela Mill, Cork Street. Postcode is BL9 7BW.

"Where and When" button on home site is well handy.
If it's slower than me, dumber than me and it tastes good ... tough titty.

Is the entry fee a day pass?
The Arcade Club looks very cool but it's a long way to travel for some of us and we'll likely be bringing kids. No mention of refreshments or toilet facilities (unless I just didn't look hard enough) which means leaving the club to find such things. Would it be another tenner or fiver to get back in again?

Yeah its like a day pass, pay once for the day and you can play on all the machines (they're all on free play). You have to pay for a drink or chocolate etc but its well worth it.

In the old club there was one toilet, this one theres ladies and gents. You could leave and come back later etc, probably just need to take your receipt with you or something.

Nice. Very Nice. Very pleasing indeed. The prolonged shopping weekends to manchester with the wife are about to become significantly more enjoyable I feel.

Yes we have toilets! ;) theres a food! plenty of hot cooked food and snacks soon (within 2 weeks)
this isn't a small project, you are free to leave and come back on the same day,
but we would like you to eat within the venue and support the Arcade! :)

Theres a lot more information available here (public Facebook page so you don't need to be on Facebook to view)

do you have some kind of time limit on the games? as with everything on free play you always get some fcuker who will stand all day at their fave machine

we don't generally see this at Arcade Club, members (and guests!) are polite and courteous to each other (really!)
we promote a very friendly atmosphere as we are not a faceless corporation! :D myself and my family own and run the entire venue.
it also helps that we have doubles of machines that can be hogged by good players! :D such as, Defender, Galaxian, Asteroids, Space invaders, Pacman, Robotron etc.
if your in the area at a future weekend pop in and take a look!
