Really liked that controller on Arkanoid, the dial kinda thing. Sure i used to just play it with the trackball before and wasnt there a version with buttons ? Which was a nightmare to use.

Plays way too fast for an old timer like myself though, not great at it but loved the home ports
The Spectrum version was quite good actually, at first I dismissed it because of the unusual way the bat moves, but once I got used to it, I thought it was really playable.

Yeah i liked it on the Speccy. Was excited to get the sequel but the garish background wasnt good.

Amazing game Arkanoid, took something so simple that so many people new with Breakout and just really made it a much more exciting game. Used to buy lots of these and the Elite games as a kid thinking i had my own 'arcade' in my room with all these conversions ! (Apart from crap like 1942 (How could they get it so wrong), Breakthru, Jackal and Guerilla War - all dire on the Speccy sadly)

Arkanoid arcade has a great, heavy, metal dial controller that works really well. Can't say I ever saw it with buttons (other than home conversions) and certainly not with a trackball.

Are we talking about a spinner?

Never seen an Arkanoid with anything but a spinner...

Made my first visit tonight. All I can say is wow! Had a great time playing all the classics, including Warlords for the first time in many a year. Also played Tempest with a spinner for the first time ever, which made it a completely different experience. I could have stayed all night but will be back when I get a chance. I thoroughly recommend it to anyone thinking of going.

Love hearing people’s reactions to it. Amazing place isn’t it.
