1-3 could just be the 3 Castlevania games TBH.

apart from that I really liked a lot of the Nintendo first party stuff.

Also had a lot of fun with New international track and field.

Another vote for the 3 Castlevania games here. Haven't played with my DS in a while and I've still got to get A Link Between Worlds, but a couple of other games I liked were 999 and, for a quick game, Meteos.
Yours sincerely, the little voice in your head that talks when you read.

Not a fan of this system. It was the beginning of the "gimmicky, underpowered" Nintendo we know today, imo. The 2nd touch screen might have seemed like an interesting idea but it's practical use was relegated to menus/world maps or two cut displays which I didn't like. They promised "N64 Plus" level graphics at a smooth framerate, but it's 3D games looked just as pixelated as PlayStation games. I would have prefered better visuals with a bigger screen and an analog stick instead of the 2nd touch screen.

As for the games - I played Mario 64 DS, Zelda Phantom Hourglass and New SMB and didn't like them much. Nintendo made way better games in the Game Boy era, imo. However I didn't try out Mario Kart DS and Advance Wars DS, two games that might have changed my opinion. Advance Wars in particular looks well suited for the DS.

1. Advance Wars: Dual Strike. Not the over ripe plotted angst ridden rubbish that was Dark Conflict
2. Henry Hatsworth in the Puzzling Adventure. Brilliant combination of puzzle and platooned that could only exist on the DS. That final boss is a swine though.
3. Soul Bubbles. Or Super Scribblenauts. Or Phantom Hourglass. Or Ghost Trick. Or Phoenix Wright. Or Aliens: Infestation. Or Okamiden. Or Trackmania Turbo. Or Mr. Driller: Drill Spirits. Or Big Bang Mini. Or Solatorobo.

I kinda love the DS...

Mario Kart DS - hours and hours of racing in single player, online worked pretty well and it had R.O.B!
LoZ Phantom Hourglass
I'll have to go with NSMB too.

In no order:

Mario Kart DS
Big Bang Mini
Luminous Arc 2

Probably! There are loads of great games I've enjoyed and I cannot remember everything I have at the moment. Elite Beat Agents has to be up there as well. Nearly everybody bangs on about the Japanese version being better but I think the crappy music selection in the Western edition is so bad that it just makes it funnier

I actually preferred the more varied scenarios of Dark Conflict. Dual Strike has a lot of very grindy levels towards the end, and the plot in it is still crap even if marginally better than DC.

Anyway, Ill go for:
Advance Wars - Either game
Animal Crossing
Professor Layton - any of them, but start with Curious Village if you want to play them in order

1. WarioWare Touched!
2. New Super Mario Bros.
3. Tetris DS

No other DS game (AFAIK) demonstrates all the DS' capabilities more perfectly than WarioWare.

I would have put Phantom Hourglass in my top 3 if it weren't for that bloody dungeon you have to do over and over (and over!).

Picross DS
Super Scribblenauts
Zoo Keeper

I don't think there's ever been a stronger format for puzzle games.
