Shortest amount of time you owned a game or console

Post by DPrinny » Fri Oct 16, 2015 10:43 am

Its in the title

Who had buyers remorse when buying a game or machine

For me
Wonderswan - About two weeks (might be less), did a bit of research on it and found out that most games where unplayable if you cant read Japanese, I got it cheap

South park N64 - It went back the next morning as it was a really really dull game

I had my PS4 for about a week, long enough to see all of it's exclusives were balls

I also had a Saturn for about two weeks, again shorty before seeing there was nothing worth playing on it.

There was a Vic 20 game called Flightpath 737 that I bought - then saw it on the demo machine on the way out of the shop - realised it wasn't for me, and went back to the counter to swap it for Krazy Kong which I quite liked. Probably owned the other game for 2 minutes.

I've brought games from cash converters and traded them at cex in minutes.

Does that count?

Dragon Ball HD Collection Xbox 360 was probably the quickest.

Bought a Speccy (+2 I think) off my uncle for a fiver when I was about 12.
Plugged it in. BANG! Turned out he gave me the wrong AC adaptor and I don't think it was an accident, he's always been a bit of a sod.

Ten minutes, that was and of course I didn't get my fiver back.

I've bought games just to trade them in at GAME before.

Shortest time I owned a game was when I first got my GBA and there weren't many games out for it and I picked up Spiderman: Mysterio's Menace from Blockbusters, and completed it in less than 2 hours. I drove down to ASDA, told them I'd been given it as a present but already had it, and swapped it for Advance Wars.

^ Hey I loved my N Gage! Sonic was pretty great!

I didn't realize this counted games as well. If that's the case Halo Wars is the shortest I've ever owned a game. I bought it at 5PM on launch day, played it in the evening, then traded it in at 9AM the day after.

Convinced myself the Halo license would convert me to RTS, it didn't. I hated it

Sort of. It's very hit and miss though as there may not me any bargins for weeks. You have to check regularly. I've had a Pokémon x 3ds from a similar type of shop recently for 8 quid but before that I brought nothing from them for months

Manhunt by Sierra on PC. Got it with my birthday money and knew I had made a mistake the moment I booted it up. We though the store wouldn't take it back unless the disks were faulty, so me and my brother hatched a plan - we would try all the warnings on the back of the floppy sleeve. Turns out bending and wetting didn't work, but magnets worked a treat.

Turns out we needn't have bothered - they let us exchange it no problem.

Kids, eh?

I got games every christmas from my dodgy uncle, which never worked properly.

various pc games in the late 90s, bought cheaply, didnt work, back to the shop.

main experience of something that was rubbish was ski air mix on the ps1, we sold it at work, it was a winter sports game, thought it would be a laugh, it was shocking, played it for 1 night, hated it, and put it in my sale pile, along with a casino game
