Buying a console just for one game

not a console but I upgraded to a Pentium at a time when I was still a student without too much money, and could have spent it on loads of other things but so badly wanted to play Need For Speed with a brand spanking new 2-speed CD-ROM that I dished out money for it. This was the only instance where I genuinely bought something on the strength of a single game, and bought everything for top dollar, I just didn't care. I wanted to play that damn game.

In retrospect I should have probably put it towards a better car because that Cortina gave me nothing but utter grief for years but well, I was young, what do you expect? I think i'll blame it on my Dad. I needed direction.
