whenever I see any cassette games with the hit squad label, It always makes me feel nostalgiac.
Just something about the packaging and the way it looks that I love, Its also to do with the games that game out on that budget lable as well of course.
Nowadays releases ( especially the PS platinum range, the xbox 360 classics etc ) all seem to look cheap and nasty, these always looked great when on a shelf together.
anyone else love the old hit Squad repackaging on the old 8-bits.

I get the same thing with the ricochet range. it always takes me back to the 80's, the simple black and white dots and pop art style.

Had quite a few of the arcade conversions on C64. Seeing them there brings back a lot of nostalgia especially since most of the them were excellent.

Hit Squad budget covers still look classy today. The modern releases like Xbox classics and EA Classic's are usually a terrible white box with a tiny image of the original cover stuck in the corner of the box.
For my screenshot book a while back I based the cover on the Hit Squad tapes, it just beat another design based on the equally great Codemasters budget label.

Used to get a Ricochet or Mastertronic game every time we went shopping to Tesco back in the day, only reason I'd agree to go

I've got lots of Hit Squad releases for Amstrad and Speccy. They all look nice and "uniform" when on the shelf together and stacked nicely.
I also really like the design of the inlay cards, that dark blue/black theme with the banner across is nice. It's a simple system to show which system a game is for - you don't even need to read it once you know the colour code.

Yes I loved the Hit Squad range.
Great way to pick up great titles for not too much money!

That would be brilliant. I am sure most people have fond memories of this range and the good thing is it appeals to speccy, c64, and Amstrad owners.

Never bought any of these
I think for people 'late' into 8 bit gaming they were brilliant. But i remember buying/copying all those games when they first came out so i never bought any of these re-releases in the 80's.
Weird seeing those games in those small cassette boxes not the originals, eg the Imagine games and the yellow clam case style boxes, same for some of the others.

Be interesting to see what the next era of retro gamers think. I do like seeing at Play Expo younger gamers on say a C64 or Speccy who obviously never had one as a kid and i'm surprised they give them a chance, its good they do.
Will there be a 'World of X-Box' at some point in the future ?! Will there be lots of arguments in the future about X-Box 2 vs PS4 etc ?

The Hit Squad range do look great. I think the redesigned Kixx labels were top notch too!

Nope as certain collectors swear and moan how the art and discs are ruined. Oh and the value of their collection is also ruined

silly people.

They look great. Brill collection too - I'm well jealous!

RG should definitely come with a cover tape one day! If only for the nostalgia of carefully peeling off the sellotape. (Unless one's already been done and i missed it!)
