Again, not really that surprising considering it only sold 10m approx in worldwide sales versus say the PS1 with + 100m. The Amiga probably sold better in Europe/UK too.

Metro has done another of it's anniversary articles, this time the top 15 games on the PS1, and it's not that bad a list:

Good to see Wipeout 2097 and Tekken 3 on the list. Both games are the pinnacle of their respective series, IMO.

I voted neo geo.never had one but love the name neo geo evertime I hear it it reminds me of the matrix for some reason.

Unlike snes which makes me think of sneezing.

And megadrive makes me think of stately homes.

For me it's a toss up.

From a nostalgic point of view it would be either Megadrive or SNES. Glorious times with those machines and me and my friends would spend every waking moment playing them.

But the Playstation just screams 90s to me. It transcends video games and becomes an iconic piece of pop culture. No matter what you think of the games or the hardware itself, no one can deny that the way it was marketed and presented was genius. It fitted in with the whole "geeky" gamer thing, but at the same time it tied in with the whole lad culture that was going on in the 90s.

It would be the Mega Drive for me!

I love my PS1 - GTA, the Oddworld series, Discworld II, Thene Hospital being my favourite games - but I have much fonder memories of the Mega Drive.

Also I love the whole nostalgia of my Mega Drive - Rushing home from school to play my newest game, playing Golden Axe and Streets Of Rage with my friends and Cousins.

I still have a lot of those same friends and, via emulation (Mostly), we still enjoy playing a lot of the same games.

Not sure any other system had such a consistently great library of games!

AMIGA. Such a range of games from floppy to CD. Even if it couldn't match later systems it still had so much going for it.

Some great machines there...but PS1 for me through and through. The machine that totally resparked the gaming passion :)

I loved my PS1. Final Fantasy VII. Tekken 3. Tomb Raider 3. Crash Bandicoot. The Oddworld games. Spyro. Ape Escape. So many brilliant, brilliant games that shaped my love of gaming.

A close second for me would be the Amiga. Games like Monkey Island, Benefactor, Wiz N' Liz, Cannon Fodder and Theme Park really hooked me at the time.
