However, I also got really excited the first time I played Rise to Honour
It just made me feel so cool.
Hey, same here. The thing I liked about that game was the way there was effectively a double layer in terms of objectives in every fight. Namely:
1)Try to beat all the badguys.
2)Try to look cool like Jet Li and not just flail about like some kind of putz who luckily manages to beat said badguys.
Any time I failed to complete a scene, I was never pissed off because I welcomed the chance to have another crack at doing it with more style. (At least, right up until the endgame boss. Him, I just wanted to kill!)
Mind you, I wasn't so keen on the shooting scenes, though they were still pretty cool at times.

What is a shame is the lack of 5 minute playables, which is where I turn to older stuff.
So true. I still love modern games, but you certainly need at least an hour for a proper gaming session for many of them. Outrun 2 has been mentioned by a few people, and this is a game I often turn to for a 5-10 minute gaming fix... that half the time winds up being an hour-long OR2 session anyway.
