Be in the magazine

Post by Darran@Retro Gamer » Wed Jun 17, 2015 6:38 am

I've put together the top 25 Xbox feature and there's surprisingly few reader quotes.
If you liked any of the following games please let me know here so we can transfer them to the mag.
Best to keep them ideally to a sentence.

Forza Motorsport
Dead Or Alive 3
Jade Empire
Shenmue 2
Ninja Gaiden

DOA3 was one of those games they liked to put on preview videos for the XBox - the graphics quality and lighting effects were just miles ahead of anything else around at the time. At last fighting game characters were starting to look like people instead of puppets.

I only own two Xbox games and Shenmue 2 is one of them!

Great game that's now finally going to come to a conclusion 15 years later!

Ninja Gaiden was a game that reveled in being really difficult, but fair. If you died, it was your fault. Having to spend all your points upgrading the wooden sword seven times just to get the unlaboured flawlessness was a bit evil though.

Ninja Gaiden was always too hard for me to progress very far in the game but somehow I still loved it.

Shenmue defined me as a gamer, but Shenmue 2 delivered on the expectation that sequels should always be bigger and better. Despite playing and completing Shenmue 2 on the Dreamcast first, Shenmue 2 on the xbox gave me the feeling of familiarity due to the revised English voiceovers, which were present in the Shenmue 1.

Ninja Gaiden is like my abusive father, even though it would mercilessly punish me I still loved it.

 joking, joking.

Jade Empire was a game unlike anything I had ever played before. My first Bioware RPG and, on Xbox, one of the few truly incredible RPG's to be found. It's a crime that there hasn't yet been a sequel.

Damn, you beat me to it!

Forza Motorsport, the first game in my all time favourite driving series, and blew even the mighty Gran Turismo 4 of its perch. Stunning visuals, a more exotic selection of cars, and amazing controls that feel differently pending on your choice of motor.

Ninja Gaiden had some of the best visuals on XBox it had so much replayability, i thought it was rock hard and then they released NG Black

The Forza series set a new standard in driving games and made Gran Turismo look like Night Driver.

Dead or Alive 3 was a thing of beauty, the stages just blew me away. A great showcase for the system.

Have to agree.

I still love the Gran turismo series but Forza Took over and I have never felt like I was missing out by not playing gran turismo anymore. I have completed every Forza game to be released and still carried on playing for fun just to buy every car in the game

Definitely. Gran Turismo was pioneering for console gamers....but Forza set the standards from the Xbox era and since. I also found GT5 and GT6 to be highly disappointing, and graphically is such a mixed bag (what with many of the car models being lifted from GT4, very inconsistent....plus frame rate issues, not full screen, and just didn't feel right overall).

Not to mention Forza has always had damage models, custom paint jobs and Porsches
