Post by Swainy » Thu Jun 04, 2015 12:11 pm

I've been on a bit of a Vectrex love fest recently. Are any of you guys fans of the console & its games?

I did mean Vectrex, that's the wonders of using an iPhone to post with. Bloody auto correct rubbish.

One day I'd love to get one, as it's unlike anything else. I hear the games are of a decent standard too.

Amazing machine. Never had one as a kid but my rich cousin did ! Remember playing on it back then being amazed by it, its great years later playing these at retro shows

Swainy - I presume you know about the great Vectrex app on iOS ? Combine that with an icade and you've got your own vectrex machine. Works so well

Yeah got the app but I do have the real thing too. Just reviewed Scramble on it http://youtu.be/gN_fVfO102k which I think is my fav game out of the original released games.

Mayhem, that's an impressive picture! 3D glasses too you lucky man!!!

I'd love to get myself a Vectrex. Such a unique machine - I've been very lucky to find myself in places where I've been able to play them quite a bit. Also, if you get a chance to use the 3D Imager, it's quite an interesting experience!

Cheers, heh. Two pairs of the 3D glasses mind you, and actually 3 Vectrex units (not in shot). And the carry case. And dust cover. And the recent 3D Imager replacement hardware. I think the only thing I don't own is a Mr Boston cartridge

Sorry - couldn't resist.

Would love one. If I had one and Mine Storm I'd be happy. I remember playing a shop display model in Woolworths regularly.

I do, but nothing Vectrex is on there. VectrexRoli is a very good Vectrex featuring channel for all your vector desires mind you heh. An Austrian with a sense of humour, he gets his wife involved with the "sketches" that bookend the features he does.

In summary, what I have is: complete US collection, complete European collection, complete Japanese collection, spare official 3D Imager, both big and small box versions of the lightpen, Minestorm II, every homebrew released in almost every form bar certain one-offs (although I do own a few of said one-offs), almost all the third party controllers made, third party 3D Imager, over ten prototype cartridges, prototype lightpen, a number of different multicarts from the last 15 years, flash carts, Joust Evolution, the Vectrex code used in the film Android, promo pen and badges, carry case, dust cover, various literature and flyers. Yeah, just missing Mr Boston
