I like that it looks fast paced with plenty of enemies on screen at one time (which is what I loved about the original Doom so much). Still not sold on the melee stuff yet, looks too much like you just walk up to an enemy and hit a button to destroy them. Couple that with the lengthy animations it might kill the pace of the game. Nothing to really worry about, assuming the game doesn't force you to use them I'll just stick to the weapons. I loved the last couple of Wolfenstein games so I think this one will turn out pretty good as well (I also really enjoyed Doom 3 for what its worth).

It looks fab, the real question will be level layouts. Really hoping for mazelike areas with lots of secrets!

Since there was some negative feedback on the cover art and the developers decided to listen to the community, you can now vote for the alternate cover art:

Option A

Option B

I'd say B looks more fitting for the regular edition as it looks like a throwback to the original cover art whereas the first option could be reserved for the "collector's edition". Let's hope the Hellish stages in the game will look great, with lots of boiling and flowing lava and various fancy grotesque statues accompanied by screams and roars in the background.

Who would not vote for the second one. Seriously.

(though I like Prinny's LED-idea. Stick it in a steelbook and use a replaceable battery that can be changed from the inside).
Retro is a state of mind, and cares not for your puny concepts like dates and calendars.

Looks like that Doom beta Wolfenstein owners were promised is finally coming this month http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2016- ... this-month

This beta was the only reason I preordered The New Order (thankfully it turned out to be decent), so I'm looking forward to trying this out!

New trailer is out:

Looks cool but that music is horrible and it's not actually in-game graphics. The MP beta reportedly feels like "Halo with demons". Not something I would really be interested in and generally I have a feel this won't live up to Doom's legacy. It will be a decent shooter aimed at an audience which was growing up on Halo and CoD and a gamepad in their hands.

^ Companies need to make money, that can't be a surprise, for you PC gamers you'll get the choice of controller or mouse and keyboard so you don't lose out, younger generation may have heard of Doom but likely are not aware of the 'legacy', if its a good game what does it matter, btw original doom had terrible music which didn't fit in to the theme.

I hope that's some sort of joke on your part...

Here's the fan-made trailer with fitting music:

They had a "Day of DOOM" the other day (was only about 3 hours)
They showed people playing the multi-player

ITS LOOKS LIKE THE TYPE OF FUN I LIKE!!

^ The power up to change into a demon looks kind of OP, though. Thanks Mr Skeltal. As far as music goes, it's the Playstation soundtrack or bust, as far I'm concerned

I'd describe it as classic doom meets halo 5 and qauke 3 speed wise its a bit slower then quake or dooms of past and more like halo 5, the jump pads feel more quake then halo the super shot gun is a proper doom wepon some of the wepons do feel like qauke 3 and 4 guns, the enviroments looks like doom mixed with quake 1 or 3 but it has classic doom gameplay plus you can play as a revernent or a baron of hell and i'm hoping to be able to play as a caca demon too.
This guy are sick
