Hey, when in Rome :D , I haven't mentioned where to pick it up have I?

Yeah the ST was a quality machine on many levels, the games being a very small part of huge a picture.

Never actually spent much time with the ST I am afraid.

Still it actually makes me all the more interested in reading the article to see what games are considered the best and to see if any of my favourite games on other systems appear on it.

Great stuff - yep, Laird, you missed some. Once you start thinking about it, they come thick and fast. And I'm not even going to crow-bar my old STOS version of Buzzsaw into the list either...

1. Leander
2. Cybernetix
3. Damocles
4. Wings of Death
5. Magic Boy
6. Interphase
7. Super Hang-On
8. The Killing Game Show
9. Vroom
10. Super Cars

And there's not even room for Time Machine, Hunter, New Zealand Story, Super Cars II, Chaos Engine, Xenon 2, Rick Dangerous, Gods, Llamatron, Stunt Car Racer, Speedball II, Wonderland, a 4-player set-up of Gauntlet II, a link-up of Lotus Turbo II or Populous, or the sheer delight of playing Space Harrier or Side Arms with a mouse.

But I'll take Leander over Gods any day - the one and only time someone connected to Psygnosis could be bothered to put in some effort on an ST conversion.

It's going to be difficult putting them in order but here they are in order :)

1. Llamatron
2. Super Hangon
3. The Killing Game Show
4. Time Bandits
5. Nitro
6. The Chaos Engine
7. Plutos
8. Speedball
9. Falcon
10. Resolution 101

This is a personal selection based on what I enjoyed at the time. The ST had many games that were either technically brilliant or fantastic conversions of arcade games. Only just missing out in my list would be Captain Blood, Interphase, Bubble Bobble, Xenon II, The Bards Tale and Starglider, GRAV, Oids and Escape From the Planet of the Robot Monsters.

Indeed, I could have listed 50, there were so many great ST games. I edited my list a few times already, so hard to get it down to 10!!!

I've not played on the Atari ST much but I can't believe no one has mentioned Dungeon Master yet!?

That's 'cos all the people who played Dungeon Master are still playing it, and would have a heart attack if you even suggested it was 'Retro'.

My brother had an ST with a LOT of games.
Unfortunately I can't recall 25 decent games although I'm sure there are loads. I still preferred my Spectrum :D

So......

RVF Honda
Xenon 2
Rick Dangerous
IK+

[edit]

And Kick Off 2
