Gonna cheat a bit with a joint answer - Mortal Kombat Deception and Mortal Kombat 9 are both equally good for me. For different reasons though. Deception has some brilliant side modes, and MK9 has a great story mode. I'm also really enjoying MK10, although the character roster feels a little thin.

I'm not a huge fan, but I like the early ones. I was thinking of getting the vs. DC one for the PS3 - I know the gore is toned down, and it uses a Tekken-styled button-per-limb control scheme, but how does it rate as a fighting game?

I really enjoyed the Wii version
The graphics and gameplay was good, I liked some of the stages with their distinctive features and I found the moves using motion control were easier to pull off that playing other versions with a traditional pad.

I like the first two games a lot even if they aren't particularly good. Great style and mythology until it went all urban with MK3.

Shaolin Monks is a lot of fun.
