Gt 1 for me. But im more of a arcade racer fan.

GT1 purely because it opened the door to the simulating of in depth vehicle tuning and large car rosters in games. By the time GT5 came out though it just showed Polyphony as a studio stuck in its ways with archaic menu interface, ridiculous collision and no damage modelling, the laughable premium/non-premium car selection and still keeping to small grid numbers.
The best experience I've had with the franchise is GT4, with a Logitech G25 wheel and racing seat set up trying to master the Nordschleife in a GTR.

I actually don't mind GT5 as I missed the 3rd and 4th and I don't play many racing games.
I would vote for 1 or 2 but having recently tried them again on a bigger screen they haven't aged too well. My vote goes on PSP mostly as it feels right on the machine , as maybe GT2 might on the PSP too.

GT3 for the PS2 for me - the first game I picked up for the PS2 - had a lot of fun with that, the rally section was great. Got GT4, but I found (and still find) the menus and gameplay a chore in that - I just didn't find it fun.
And the later ones don't seem to have evolved, they look great but AI that seems on rails is behind the times...
The PSP version is quite fun for a quick race on the bus or wherever...

GT3 for me, played it far more than any other GT I have owned, everything was very accessible and things got really fun once I hit the Rally and F1 events. Soundtrack wasn't too bad either, recall there being a lot of Feeder?
