Re: The Greatest Games Of All Time
This is a tough one and my opinion will probably change over the weekend If I play something not on the list
I'll comment on a few titles but not all as I'm a lazy beggar
Goldeneye - Other than bringing a PC quality FPS with multiplayer to a console this was the first game I was aware of that featured an Achievement style system in the form of the unlockable cheats
Mario 64 - Showed that 3d platforming blah blah blah done well blah blah set the standard etc...
Guitar Hero - Yes Guitar Freaks was first but other than "hardcore gamers" who cared? I do like Guitar Freaks so calm down This made alternative controller based rhythm games in the home take off and become mainstream popular
Super Mario Brothers - No comment needed
Tetris - ...
Ridge Racer - True arcade quality racing in the home and as stated elsewhere; only one track but what a track!
Doom - Again no comment required
Batman Arkham Asylum - I would put the whole series under this to be honest... Great story and incredibly engrossing, I feel like I'm actually Batman
Tony Hawk 2 - Improved on the original title immensely and truly launched the "extreme" sports genre. Only bettered by the Skate series but I feel they are not fitting for a greatest games list at the moment
Pokémon Red/Blue/Yellow - Not much to say here... Retro Gamer summed it up in the recent article on the game
There is no real order to that list but it was bloomin' hard to decide on 10 games alone...

Oh man, Guitar Hero!!
It's like Wii Sports a bit that one - it isn't so much the game but who you play it with and where/when you play it.
I can't believe how many people have Dead Rising in their top 10s - I truly hated that game. One of the two games I've ever returned to the store!

Re: The Greatest Games Of All Time
Been going to post in this thread since it started, but I keep changing my mind. I'm giving serious consideration to my definitive top 10...I just know as soon as I post I'm going to regret some omissions.
I do know that a football management game, a golf game, Bubble Bobble & a Eugene Jarvis game or two will all have to be in there.

Re: The Greatest Games Of All Time
I'm glad I'm not the only one that was torn about including Wii Sports, it would definetily be in my top 20.

Have to chill and think about this, strike, add, strike strike add so glad there's a window for that !
As a newcomer, be great if you could include the original top 100 too, in the publication for reference. NEs, Highest Climbers !
Can't wait for this issue, already.
