I keep thinking that I really should have included Sensible Soccer and Worms on my list

Ooo, good choice! The Bizarre Creations F1 games are my favourite arcadey F1 games. I just realised I didn't include any of their games on my list. :(

Yeah, I should've stuck Worms Armageddon in there. There's always the 2025 list to look forward to.
My comics blog (mostly lesser-known UK stuff from the 80s and 90s)

I very nearly included SWOS myself and wondered if I should have done, so I'm pleased to see it well reperesented.

I think though, it would have been a strong nostalgia pick for me, if I'm honest I think SWOS was just the best there was at the time, but has been since been improved upon by things like PES.

I agree. This is the thing though, is it best games or best retro games of all time.
SWOS was/is great but it's been bettered multiple time over the years. If I was looking for a quick football blast there
would be a LOT of games to go through before I turned to SWOS.

It does say there is no limit on system so you can include new games.
My own list includes a game from 2013.

The original list from 10 years ago had new games in so it only makes sense this one is the same.
Because it's a retro forum, the vast majority are going to prefer older games anyway. I certainly do.

We're still a long way from compiling the final list (nick's only taken about a third of the votes so far), but interestingly there's currently more games from the 00s in the top 100 then there are from the 80s!

I took the "greatest games of all time" to mean just that. I'm partial to a retro game as much as the next person, and I have a lot of sentimental and nostagic reasons to pick some older games, but I'm not afraid to call a spade a spade, if I think a modern game is better I have no problem saying so. As a result none of my picks pre-date the N64 and I'm fine with that. It's not really a poor reflection of previous generations, it's just that I can only pick 10 games. :)
